Doing really well this month. Still have over £50 left to last until 31st:) Not much more to buy really. Been in the kitchen today, made pie, quiche and jam tarts. Making sure I don't throw away any food by keeping a list of fridge and freezer and adding things to list in date order making sure I use up what is about to go bad before it does. This is working well for me!

  • Hey Everyone,

    Thanks for the support messages.
I am feeling a bit better now, still upset but this is life and as you guys said I will save up again.
I am glad I cut all my credit cards last year lolol no way I could think about using them to pay for the repairs and I have also cancelled overdrafts. We basically live with what we got, which is good.
As I said before we have 30.00 to last us until the 01st. Thanks to this challenge and the support from all of you.. my freeze and my cupboards are not empty just need a top-up :) And after going through everything with hubby last night we can still have a tenner to spend during the weekend hehehe
I wouldnt have fixed the car so quickly but my husband needs it to go to work.. because we are the opposite, we live in town and his work is in a village - 30min drive each way.
On the positive side, all this mess made me realize we can actually do with 3 x 70.00 weekly shops, instead of 4 :) And that will be my challenge for September 210.00 hehehehe
Again guys, thanks a million. Every support message means to world.
    xxx

  • Forgive me all for i have been weak!
I had to nip into tesco for a birthday gift for one of our residents - and whilst i was there i decided to look at the reduced sections... my car now has reduced peppers, sweetcorn, carrots, greens, beans, potatoes, banana's, salmon, turkey mince and sausages in it... naughty maz... good job i have a new second freezer!! lol

    xx

Hi everyone - firstly hugs to those that need them.;)

What is going on with this weather, blowing a gale here and although we have had some sunshine we have had REALLY heavy showers in between. At least the Garden and Allotment are getting a much needed watering.;)

Dinner tonight is a HM chicken pie, using the leftover chicken from Roast last night, serving it with some spuds from the Garden and a tin of baked beans, yum, yum.

Also noticed that with the strong wind today a few large cooking apples have been blown off my tree - will pick some blackberries and make a crumble for pud.

Must get some baking done tomorrow, running low on Hobnobs and nibbles for the kids.

    Have a good evening everyone.:D

Will update sig, hopefully that is it for the month!

Hello there, popped in tonight for a "couple of bits", as you do, and spent £2.83. It would have been a bit less except for the life of me I could not remember if I had enough tomato puree in, so got some in case. Then of course got home to discover a full tube already in the cupboard. I have officially turned into my mother. Never mind, it'll definitely get used up.

So that brings me to what I'd realised was inevitable - going over budget. I'm still trying to think that I am not really going to be badly over budget, it's just because of the washing powder, but I still keep seeing my sig and going . Still need another "couple bits" yet (am delaying buying these so that the dates will be when I need them to be) but it should not affect my total in any really drastic way.

    Hi All,

    I'm finally sober again!!! :rotfl:

Had a wonderful party - friends came that I haven't seen for a good few years which was a lovely surprise. They stayed and the rain finally stopped on Sunday so we had a very very late breakfast in the sun on the patio. No finer way to relieve a hangover!

I have been reading but the alcohol has played havoc with my memory. I think Laisbojar needs a hug, and there are more but please forgive me :o and just know that I send you hugs if you need them. :grouphug:

Ooh, just scrolled down and want to wish Gintot a happy anniversary too.

Right, went back to work today and I had no snap (lunchbox) so ended up going to MrT where I spent a fiver (not just on lunch). The kitten food ran out as predicted and so we bought that today. OH also went to a couple of little shops in town and all spends have been added to the sig. We're very close now and I have to do a proper shop tomorrow so the budget is gone.

BUT if I take the kitten food out we could just scrape in. ;) We'll see how we're shaping up later in the week.

Ok I'm off for dinner and a watch of the googlebox.

Take care all and good luck for the final stretch,
    Spigs

Oooh, excellent. Thanks for that guccigoo I might have to pop in and get some too then.

I've just been reading a post by someone on another site who says that they may well be BOGOF, but they're not paying £9.99 for a tin, because if they wait until it's nearer to Xmas, the supermarkets will be selling them for £5 a tin :rotfl: ......er.....helloooo....the difference being??? :rotfl:

makes a lot of sense.... not! :rotfl:

Had to go to Mr T's today as we needed some odds and ends, plus the bakers at lunchtime as DH doesnt like tesco's rolls in his lunchbox, so my total has increased by another £14 odds. Still doing not to badly, but away to order a Tesco shop tonight, but will use the £5 voucher, I think they take them when they deliver your shopping - will check on the shopping thread. Will keep the shopping to a bare minimum as only have about £30 to last until my final day on Saturday. I am better doing a shop online as our local tesco is over run by foreign students who are here for the fruit picking season, as they arrive by the busload all at once and it is a nightmare!! you can have 2or3 buses all at once. my patience gives out and then I just throw anything in the trolley to get out of the place. At least Ihave been watching what we have been spending and know that I have reduced the budget by approx £125 this month - I am really pleased!!!!
