  • Hello All

I am back again disheartened with myself as new month starts next week when I get paid so last night was final shop... and I am £100 over budget this month... NOT good at all although I have bought lots of extras this month cards, and birthdaypressies and tried to do it all out of same budget including clothes and shoes from tesco.

Next month will be better although we have visitors next weekend for birthday celebrations! but then have holidays in September so that should cut it down nicely. Plus I will not be buying any extras at all and sticking to one shop a week.... we are stocked up on stuff though which is good as have bought lots of bits on offer... Hey ho still better than the old days!!!
Making Chicken Stock sunday so that will be in freezer for a soup.

Make sure you all go and get your copy of the sun and take advantage of the £5 voucher.

    Hello everyone

Not been around much this week as it's been a bit hectic on the appointments front.

Had total spends so far this week (or since I last posted) of £36.57 - bringing my total spend so far to £191.16 out of my £275 budget. It's doable, but it's gonna be a close call.

I usually do a "big" shop fortnightly, but if I had shopped Tuesday for my usual Wednesday delivery, that would have meant there would be 3 fortnightly shop days next month, the 1st, 15th & 29th (if anyone is following what I mean) and we only have enough funds to do 2 fortnightly shops a month, and even if we didn't, I don't like paying out more than £7pcm on delivery charges.

Soooo - I deferred this weeks shop until next Wednesday which means shop days next month will fall on the 8th & 22nd.........well it makes sense to me :rotfl:

Anyway, my no shop, mean it "appears" that I have a lot of money left to play with, I doubt that will be the case, but we'll see.

Good luck to everyone for the last 11 days :)

Been out and picked up my Sun £5 off voucher for Mr T - actually texted my mum and she was in Mr T's at the time - she bought two papers, ripped one voucher out and gave it in at the till there and then and got one for her shopping next Friday - so have saved mum £10:j
I'll use mine next weekend when we're back from the lakes and will need to do a big shop.

Popped to Mr S whilst in town for this weeks shopping and spent the grand total of £6.95:p on bananas, squash, tagliatelle, pasta sauces, onion, mushrooms, flour and bread rolls. Then nipped to the butchers and spent £3 on bacon and sausages for a fry up tomorrow.
So just about ducked in under the £10 budget I'd set myself:T

    Hi Peeps

i`ve just updated my siggy and have a huge £15.87p left in my grocery budget  Should really be ok though as i`ve only got one more shop left to do this month and that will be tomorrow.

DH will be the one doing the shop and i shall tell him that we only have £9 left in the pot which should make sure that we are ok as he`s bound to go over as he is off camping on Sunday so will sneak extras in and hope that i won`t notice. I shall be sure to get the receipt off him before he goes.

The large fridge and freezer have now been freecycled and i have the new fridge freezer in the kitchen, this is taking some getting used to and i`m not there yet :o I ended up buying a small chest freezer and its been put in the corner of the spare room upstairs so thats been a huge help. I do need to make a new updated freezer list though as i`m not sure where everything is atm but we are getting there.

The new larder cupboard is finally up in the kitchen :j it still needs the plinths etc adding but it is now crammed full :o I was a bit shocked when i realised how much pasta we have but it will last for ages :D

I have tons of dog and cat food as i bought extra to stock up with a it was on offer, i wasn`t going to have a budget for this next month as i think that we will manage but i`ve been on the preparing for winter thread and have decided to keep buying the normal amount each month and then we should have a good stock on for over the winter months just in case we end up snowed in and empty shelves in the supermarket like last year. Sounds silly to think about that in August but we were getting a bit worried last year.

The home made wine is going strong and is fabby so the spends on alcohol have been nil, really pleased with this and its nice to have a tipple without spending, will get a couple of bottles of spirits ready for "C" but thats about it i think.

Right i`ll carry on with my catch up reading the thread, i`m working my way backwards through it up to where i got to earlier in the month :D

Belated Birthday wishes to you Spiggle! nice to hear that you had a good day.

    Catch you all later.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Hello Everyone!

Hugs to those who need them and birthday greetings to anyone who has a birthday this week.....

Am making soup as weather wet and horrible here...baked bean and carrot- DH loves it. Will have with the rest of Weezles onion tart, salad and oven chips tonight. (Ta Weezle ) Just a couple of carrots, a tin of baked beans, some Marm**e, veg stock(out of a bottle) and black pepper. Cook until carrots are soft. We like ours whizzed in the blender.

May sterilize jars and make apple curd when the oven is on.......

Does anyone still remember the Cr**ks recipe for Lentil quiche? Onion, lentil, tinned toms(I think) and lemon comes in somewhere....? I haven't got the book any more. Delighted if someone can put it on here.

    Take care.

    Gintot :)
