Still using things from freezer; didn't realise just how much I had in there until I actually listed it. Spent £10.35 on fruit and veg from market on Friday. Having squid casserole (£2 for half bag from Tescos) with tomatoes and dough balls from AF food purchase (about 15p/packet) and fresh apricots for pud. Out all day tomorrow at jazz tea (free!).0

I have had a no spend day today, but my sister has called and asked me to pick up some carrots on way to hers tonight. She will be paying for them so still no spend for me, but can I just go to C**p, buy the carrots and walk out?
Send me some positive vibes please peeps :smileyhea:xmastree:Merry Christmas0 -
Absolutely! I have faith in you! especially if you only take about 60p into the shopcarolinerunner wrote: »Help! We were away the 2nd week in Aug (most of) and I've lost track totally. My DH spends money on groceries and doesn't keep track of it. We didn't spend much on groceries while away but ate out a lot. What shall I do now? Give up and start again in Sept or work it out from bank statements what's been spent? Should I count the holiday eating out as groceries or not? Feeling all out of control....
If I were you? Well, I'd write the first half of the month off.
We're half way through the month, so I would work out how much money you should have left for the last 2 weeks, and then try and budget to that. That way, it'll keep you focused
NSD for me today, bringing my total NSD's to 5Shame my spends so far doesn't reflect that

Well so far we have spent £46.94 meaneaning we have £68.04 left of our £115 budget. As it stands we are under budget which is not bad considering we have bought a lot (including some vitamin C powder for the breadmaker, malt extract and jam sugar - I'm really happy about the breadmaker we got recently, hehe) and that has included a take away!
We do need to get the chinchillas some food, hay and some dust soon so that will be around £5-£10 depending. Not sure when we'll get that but most likely in the next week.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
Evening all
£3 spend on italian sausage and another £3 spend on enough greengages for 6 jars of jam!
Just made it there and it is lovely! Now just needs to cool. Should look good next to the red plum jam in christmas hampers

Sorted out some paperwork last night and am very annoyed with myself as I found my lost asda reward vouchers given to me at Xmas and now expired 2 months ago! £12 down the drain! It will NOT happen again!!!
Did some cooking today and made the butternut squash tart. Tasted very different to butternut squash in its "normal" form because of the garam masala. Not sure if it is supposed to be a savoury or a sweet but personally Id use it as a sweet and reduce the sugar by about 1/4 next time-a little sweet for me but everyone loved it.
Reminded us of treacle tart without the stickiness or the sickliness-that is the best way to describe it-so if you like treacle tart you will most likely enjoy butternut squash tart. Made double quantity-it made 5 smallish tarts each serving 4 people so 20 servings for less than £2. Frozen 2 of them for next week.
DD loves the apple curd and I think ate half a jar tonight!
I made peanut and pumpkin seed butter last night but only half the recipe as Ive already got some peanut butter on the go(shop bought stuff). That was also a sucess but I may cut down on the pumpkin seeds or maybe even omit them.
Ive done so many new dishes this week Im feeling proud.
No spend day today although dh said he wanted beer-it will wait until tomorrow or monday.
Had chicken salad for lunch-salad from garden and the chicken I cooked on Thurs evening which made 5 portions of chicken/chickpea curry and 5 portions of chicken salad as dh didnt manage to get his mitts on it!
Now cooking beetroot in the slowcooker-not tried this method before but fail to see why it wouldn't work. DH dug them up yesterday.
I have £4..23 in my purse from the £100 I put in last week so I will put in same again next week-i am so happy that I've had 2 weeks at under £100 on grocery shopping and this week I spent £20 on petrol and a meal out for myself-£6(Im cheap) and Ive included that.
This will get me back on track for next month.
Tomorrow Im making a veggy chilli and rice (already cooked the beans yesterday)so it will be a cheap dinner. Ive got another chicken in the fridge so I will also cook that tomorrow and hide it from dh-I will wait until he is stuffed with chilli before the chicken gets displayed!!!
Hoping I may even get away with £90 next weekbut we shall see!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Spent another $26.60 between Mr.M,market and pound shop.£71.93/ £180.000

Well done, Kitty! they do say that it gets easier with practice but I have never been convinced. Where I live there are no shops unless I get in the car and drive about 5 miles so am lucky not to be walking past temptation on a regular basis. Hope you gave yourself a pat on the back!0
