3 mobile contract switch

Hi all, first thread, I did lurk around a bit to see if my question has already been covered but this forum seems pretty cluttered and I want a precise answer to what I have to ask.
At the moment, I'm on a 3 mobile 18 month contract, with unlimited texts, 300 minutes, 30 3to3 minutes, and unlimited internet/data usage, im paying around £35 a month and have 3-4 months left on my contract.
I'm looking to move to O2 as the selection of phones is MUCH more varied than 3 (I have the HTC Hero and I'm actually looking to get the HD2 which is currently ONLY offered by O2 as far as I know?) but the O2 tariffs seem ridiculously expensive.
I was wondering, near the end of my contract, would I be able to go into O2 and say "this is what I am getting now, can you offer me anything better"? And would they likely be receptive? Or does this only work when you threaten to leave a phone company to go to another?
(sorry for the long post, at least it was coherent ;D) and many thanks in advance.

Yes, they might see what they can do.
You could always ring them up.
Or try the three network and see if they'll offer you an amazing cut price deal if you stay? £35 p/m seems steep, I'm with them - albeit SIM only - and pay £15 for lots of internet (1gb I think), 3000 texts, 100 mins and 200 3-2-3 minutes."We are the change that we seek."0 -
Thanks, I will check that out.0
