I shop in Tesco for stuff I can't get in Lidl or Aldi. I would use a combination of supermarkets etc, but I do not drive. I am not being conned into thinking I'm getting something "free", I KNOW we pay for all this, but Tesco is really the only option for me apart from the cheapies where I can't get everything I need.
That said, I have ALL the so-called loyalty cards, including one for Subway and I only use that once in a blue moon, the BHS one is very useful for hearing about the 20% off days! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Yeah, I think customers just don't like that Tesco know what they're buying0

My New Years Resolution was to get rid of all these cards, little return and a lot of my information heading off into the ether. I have noticed that when I'm supermarket shopping more and more people answer no when asked if they have a card at the checkout.0

I am a good bit away from supermarkets so so a big shop once a week dotting between asda tesco and sainsburys so just because i get points im not def buying in tesco or sainsburys. but when i do i think i may as well take what they are giving. i know they have more information on me than the census but i dont mind...good on them. means more sales for them but also specifoc product vouchers for me.0

I got cards for everywhere, include petrol stations, boots etc. Ok it might take time before you get anything out of it, but if you are shopping and getting something back evenually you will come to a point where you walk into somewhere like Game with your savings towards the 3rd or 4th xbox coming out in future and suddenly the guy says you got £50 worth of points on your card..... well..... do I need say more?
Nectar is a nice scheme, even so its not got a high payout to something like Boots. But the points can be collected in so many places and spent in many places.0 -

Well, Tesco would have a rough idea (at least) of what their customers were buying by stock levels. What difference does it make for them to know what an individual is buying?
I have most of them; Tesco, Sainsburys, Boots, HMV, Waterstones, Toys R Us, Subway, Game, Gamestation, Iceland (although no loyalty points), I think that's it..... *Rummages through purse*..... yeah that's it. I don't go out of my way to go to these shops "just" to get points.
It doesn't bother me that they know what I buy, because I sent coupons (for some of them) for buying those items.
Boots, for example, always send me extra points for buying a £15 O2 topup. My PAYG tariff is one you have to top up £15 a month anyway, so this is great! Sainsburys and Tescos tend to send me coupons for Huggies (what I use on my son) so I'm not complaining on that either... well, for know, he is in the proccess of potty training, so won't have much need for them soon *wishes*Thanks to all posters :A0 -

My friend refuses to get a clubcard even though Tesco is the supermarket closes to him. He actually told me he gets money vouchers through his door every year from them to entice him into getting one. Ironically really cos he just uses them and still doesn't sign up.Wins in 2015

I have a clubcard and save my points for xmas and we sometimes end up with £50-£75 worth of points this pays for food over xmas and new year. I would rather Tescos got rid of the clubcard and cut food prices by 2-3p per £1.Jan Wins: .0

Yeah a 2-3p price reduction would be better. I do try buy items in the cheapest place anyway. Odean should scrap their reward card and put prices down. Went to the cinema today total rip off!0
