Oops seems to have gone AWOL..

New work seems to be taking its toll.. And unfortunately it's not going well.. Looks like I have been trapped.. The job I was recruited for does not exist as such.. The company is going through a restructure and I am only there to fill a gap should one of the other manager leave.. I caught a conversation saying that whatever happen they would get rid of me before the end of my trial period.. Suffice to say I am not a happy bunny (or frog more like it).. I seriously want out of there.. They have given me a bogus project to work and I feel so unwelcome there.. It's really a drag to get out of bed every morning for a job you simply hate.. I have been in touch with agencies to get something else sorted, but the job market is dire.. I am opening up the kind of job I want to broaden my horizon but so far nothing..
The commute does not help, I probably spend the best part of 4 hours a day in public transport, just a pure waste of time.. Hopefully from next week onwards I should be able to drive there and back and reduce the commute..

Sorry this is a depressive message but this how I feel at the moment..

Somebody, please give me some good news to cheer me up..

  • Really? Thats terrible, I hate it when people take that approach to employing people. Personally I will only ever employ somebody if I know that there is a permanent job to fill, nothing worse than having to let people go.

Hopefully something better will pop up for you soon mate :(

On the bright side it looks like the M'Villa deal is all but sorted.

  • Oh dear Froggy that sounds awful - and a four hour commute to top it off- definitely not good!!

Hmmm...good news.... well its friday which means no work for 2 days!! Perhaps we shall get some sun over the weekend too to make it even better!!

Do hope things start looking up on the agency front too!

That's horrible Froggy, hopefully something will come up via the agencies. You would have had to have been clairvoyant to have known any of this, so I hope you're not beating yourself up over it. I'm sure it's a widespread practice, but it's a very shabby one.

Good news ... I leased a little share in a racehorse and I am very excited over all of this. :0). He is called Angrove Rumbaba and he is unique; the only skewbald (brown and white) National Hunt racehorse in the UK, and the only one ever to have been placed in a race in the world. (4th in his first race on April 23)
