The official thought this answer strange, so
asked, 'And what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?'
'I have a marvelous instrument designed to be
used on a woman, but which is, to date, unused.'
Roaring with laughter, the official said, 'Go
    ahead, Father. Next!'

    Silaqui...are you around?

Well, obviously you're :D not but since you're a lady who likes the odd trip to a theme park...could I please ask which one you think is the best?

I need to start saving for [STRIKE]my hols[/STRIKE] the wee man's birthday next year but I'm not sure where to go.

I was going to go to legoland as I can get a really cheap hotel quite close to it but I'm in 2 minds about travelling all that distance with the sprogs :p

    You rang? :D

My personal favourites are Thorpe Park and Alton Towers because I love the coasters, but if you are taking kids Legoland is a good choice, also possibly Chessington World of Adventures?

However... Thorpe Park and Legoland are fairly close together so it might be worth combining the two? At Thorpe they have a cute little 'beach' area where you can go paddling which is quite nice for littluns, but there are not a huge amount of rides suitable for them. FANTASTIC rides for you though!! Stealth is just... wow... but way too short. Chessington isn't massively far away either which is quite family themed with some big and some small rides.

Would you be driving down or flying? Flybe have some good prices sometimes, thats who we are flying with in October, £20 return per person.

There is also Drayton Manor Park and Zoo which is in the midlands, near Tamworth, so not quite as far to travel. That has some big rides, a Thomas the Tank themed kids area (which is actually wicked.. she says at 24 lol) and a zoo that you can wander round to clear your head. If you go there you have to go on Apocalyse! Stand up with no floor, when we were on it broke and we were stuck at the top for ages just dangling! I'd reccommend it for a visit although it is a bit shabby in parts. It's fairly near to Alton so you could stay in between and do both lol.

Other possibilities are Blackpool Pleasure Beach (IMO it's gone downhill big time but there are still some good rides and you have a sea life centre, beach etc) Flamingo Land in Yorkshire somewhere which is alot smaller, and there's one called Pleasure Island (I think) in Grimsby or Cleethorpes, somewhere round there. I guess you could do Flamingo and Pleasure Island in one trip too but they are much smaller parks.

Sorry I have been rambling lol - I guess it just depends what you are after tbh! I reckon Draytons a good bet for less travel, or south east and hire a car (if you don't drive down) and do the three down there?

Reading this back I think I might be a bit obsessed with rollercoasters - I've already told the BF if we ever get married our honeymoon is going to be here...

No pad today, will sort it out tomorrow
    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

I was looking at Thorpe Park last night, some of the rides look awesome!! :D

I'm not sure which to choose!!

Legoland seems to have a major wasp problem this year, not sure if would be the same next year...I guess it would be!!

I'd need something especially for the kids I think, the wee man will be able to appreciate it a bit more on his 2nd birthday :D

As for travel, well, I think we might fly this time. Taking the car was the easiest thing for us to do this year as we have a travel cot and stuff with us...hopefully we won't have that next year!

    Wicked honeymoon destination BTW! :D
