I've just received this email from HMV:

On ringing the supplier I have found that the item you have ordered is now discontinued.

All efforts are made to update the website and our database when an items availability changes. I apologise that you have not been notified. However, this information was unknown until we telephoned the supplier.

You have not been charged for the order as we only process payment once the order is dispatched.

I've received the email today. How sad. But I've decided to query their excuse. It can't do any halm after all. Doubt they'll come up with the goods mind you.

Edit: Just noticed on the site it says 'unavailable'...ie, you can't buy it. If it is a fib, at least they're trying to be consistent...unlike many others.

I got that e-mail too - not really a surprise HMV trying to get out of it like that...we have won battles wtih Sainsburys, Tescos, Woolworths, WHSmith to name a few...is HMV next?
