  • Meanwhile it is well worth your time to take a look at EBICO. They are already up and running offering low cost gas and electricity tariffs on much the same basis as AtCost are talking about. No fixed charges and excellent value. Make sure that you compare them on a 'per Kwh' basis only.

I have to say, "Low cost" and "Excellent value" arent words I would use to describe Ebico..

Why compare them on a 'per kWh' basis only? Ignoring the discounts on offer from other suppliers will present a completely inaccurate result.

Ebico can be "low cost" and hence represent "excellent value" in certain circumstances ... typically extremely low usage (especially for those with second homes) or low usage on a PPM.

My suggestion is people use a couple of comparison sites to confirm which supplier is cheapest for them.

Even this poster found that Ebico were only more expensive overall ( i.e. by comparing both gas and electricity combined), but found they could have saved by switching just their gas supply to Ebico.

In "certain circumstances" I'm sure even UW can be low cost and (bites tongue) "excellent value"

But for most people there are far better deals available..

Every comparison I've done in the last 4 or 5 years Ebico havent even featured in the top 20..

It seems a company that promised to make great waves in the sea of energy providers may struggle to fart in a bath."

Thanks Martin, made me spit my coffee on the laptop!:rotfl:

I doubt it, but we are not allowed to discuss them here.

This is the only thread we can discuss that company.

Try a comparison on energyhelpline.com for a gas customer in the Midlands using 15000kWh per year using a PPM ;)

Or try a comparison of an electricity customer based in the Midlands using 2500kWh p.a. on a PPM

I don't understand what the point is you are trying to make here. I said:

You replied to that, implying that it was somehow incorrect.

I have since provided you with examples (as well as including one example in that earlier post). That is not an exhaustive list.

However, you, being just 1 of around 20-30 million possible customers, obviously don't fall into those certain criteria I was referring to. :)
