Im waiting to see if the nil tax code is starting this month or not. Also had a letter asking how I paid for br. Thats all so far. Hi all, Went bankrupt 09 august so add me to the list.
I was so releved when i walked out of court whith the bankruptsy all done. I had a small hickup with the fees as i only had £450 and needed to pay the additional £150 court fees as i did not yet have the correct JSA paperwork. I had 1 hour to beg and scrounge £150 until i could reclaim the money at a later date. Apart from that the process took about 40mins and did not have to see a Judge.
Got a call from the OR the following day and spoke with her for about 20-40mins. I was told i would be discharged in 12 months and that she should not need to talk to me further.
Since being bankrupt, I have managed to get a contract mobile phone with Virgin Media and have opened a Co-op account. The OR said i could keep my LTSB current account but would be subject to the bank. So far as of today my LTSB current account still remains open and am using the account as normal. I am currently using my Co-op as a savings account as well as a backup account incase LTSB were to decide to close my account.
Since going bankrupt I feel so much better in myself. Not stressed and no more sleepless nights. Good luck to all those who are about to go through this process. Its not as bad as we all imagine it will be.
I will report back.0 -
We were made br on the 25th aug by HM rev and customs they would not except us paying a vat debt over a long period so they made us bankrupt. A bit of relief really as we were struggling with are business in this recession. We started renting our house in march and will be wanting to renew lease after 1 year just not sure if landlord will want us when he learns of our plight[we are not behind with rent or utilities]. we have both now found work so am expecting to get a hefty ipa once our payslips have come and we inform the or.Has anyone any experience with landlords and br. Or how bad the ipa can be.0
