    Both my wife and I commute into central London (from zone 3). So commuting is comfortably the biggest "bill".

    Lol!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Surely a joke! No?!
    :rotfl:

    You forgot those perfectly resurfaced roads and no pot holes to be seen anywhere.

    Sorry I was dreaming.

    Mortgage being £1300 pm, but grossly overpaid as the amount was set 5 years back on twice the debt currently outstandng, and three times the required interest rate.

    Then £222 on council tax per month, which I fully resent.

    I pay £196.30 council tax in my area, which as far as I know has the highest rates in England. Some other villages in the same area pay even more than this for the same band. Where I live there is no street lighting, no rubbish collection and no street cleaning, so no, it is not good value for money! And something like a third of that goes to pay the pensions of the Council's employees. I definitely will not be able to afford to retire. Even a Band A house is over £1000 per annum.

    What are you doing with the stuff?

    Swimming pool/sprinkler?

    The two of us live in Essex, probably the driest place in the driest county in England.
    Wednesday's "downpour" was the first run off from the roof in about 2 months and produced less than 5mm in the bird barh.
    We are paying a fraction over 100 pence per tonne ( M3 ) plus 32 GBP per year standing charge and the bill is typically 70 - 80 GBP per year.
    (OK we don't pay sewerage charges which would add 50% to the above figures but even still?)
