Other - Nursery costs
More than my mortgage.

Having struggled through the nursery fees stage, why oh why did we put our kids into private school? <Bangs head on wall repeatedly>
£20,000 a year for two in junior school and more when they move up to secondary. Sheer madness!
I'm hoping that they will both get a fabulous education leading to top degrees and very, very good jobs, so that they can support their parents in the their old age, 'cos we'll be flat broke by then...0 -
Motoring would be our biggest bill.0

I had instinctively chose council tax, but reading previous postings I have had a closer look at car costs. There very small difference between council tax and car costs, and should our car require more than a standard service the car deserves the vote. One interesting outcome to this question, is I have stopped to consider taking a lower local job and abandon the car.
hmm, not sure if my small brain can handle the decision.0 -
we do run 2 cars but the cost of that per year is still lower than our council tax ,next biggest has to be mortgage protection insurance ,I should really look into that as its a whopping £80 a month ,
If we just take insurances in general ,car ,home and contents ,life ,mortgage ,a separate sickness insurance that covers hubbies wages if he is sick ,there are probably a few missing here that I cant think of .these added together are probably our biggest expence0 -
Why is mortgage repayments not in the list?
Debt repayment is there but I can't believe the average person's mortgage payment is less than their council tax!0 -

Is that not you speeding that puts the points on the license?
I'm a biker and I'm not going to pretend to be whiter than white, but that's the chance we all take when we exceed the speed limit0 -
I would like to think it was my dangerous driving that should have put the points on my licence.
I am prepared to agree that this particular installation on a bypass, might have had some purpose, other than revenue raising, on a week day; but not at 08:00 on an almost car free Sunday morning.
It is interesting to see that under pressure to cut costs, some local authorities are promptly culling their speed cameras.

It seems silly to include council tax - of the others, water is easily the most expensive. I want to move to somewhere with a meter.0
