Thanks to all. I need to download vlc codec and look at how to transfer my videos to the pc. I think. Will do that tomorrow as Ive spent a whole day on this. Keep in touch I will need further advice.0

VLC is a player not a codec. You were told that VLC Player might play your files. Basically any audio or video file can be encoded in a multitude of different ways (although there are some more commonly used ones), yet they still have a similar file extension. You need to find out the codec that was used and then when that is installed on your PC, you will be able to play the files. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

The Eurocyber website has an email address:
Karishma@ms12.hinet.net
Maybe worth a try contacting them?

Thanks for reply espresso but you lost me in the technospeak. I have printed out your reply and will try to work my way through it.
The camera is Eurocyber (which I was told is made by Sanyo) DV-1200X.0 -
ceewash, If you're still trying to find the codec, I came across this which may help:
Codec Finder 5.1 (freeware). Simply drag the video file to the Codec Finder window and it will tell you what codec was used to create it. Then search the internet to find that codec. Once you've found it, simply download and install.
Haven't tried it but hope it helps.0 -
How did you guess?0

Its a common problem ( not the mpeg 4 bit, but ) being sold a basic non brand , under impression it was something esle- many in fact seem to have fake stickers on them - although if they are going to lie, why say sanyo ( my brother was told JVC)

Thanks to all those who replied. I am still struggling with my camcorder. I have converted my files using AVS converter which seems to work. My problem now is that does not play any sound. Has anyone any suggestions? It might help me if some one could go through the best way to save onto the pc as I am wondering if I saved the video with the sound on it. I can hear the sound ok when playing back on the camcorder.0
