Havent got as far as the CV but I did spot a couple of jobs at the local university. Lot less than I am on now but that doesnt bother me too much, its more about quality of life for me now. I am going to have a think about them both as they have a couple of weeks to closing dates. Only thing I am thinking is it is more admin work and management which means it isnt that different to what I have done forever.

There is something else rattling round in my brain at the moment but I have to get it straight in my mind before looking into in more depth. I am sure that what will be will be. Spoke to my Manager today and she was talking about stuff that needs to be done in January so I am not holding out much hope of being selected to be honest.

  • I guess things have to carry on as if you will be there.

So is Germany your plan ? How wonderful to able to think like that.

I am not going to shuffle into middle age either. I don't quite yet know what the alternatives are but it will be fun !

Yes I suppose they can't give anything away. I wouldn't discount anything yet :)

I definitely am not going to shuffle towards middle age either.

Shuffle, I have never shuffled in my life !!! I fully expect to be dancing to Robbie Williams and singing along with Michael Buble the day I die. ;)

Although the night before I will probably listen to Vaughan Williams Lark Ascending and feel completely at peace with the world:o

  • I actually intend to put some practice in for being outrageous as suggested in the 'When I am old I shall wear purple..' poem.

    Morning All,

The rain is falling here this morning, quite heavy so out with the wellies and the mack for walking in forest this morning. Mind you it means that we can go stomping in the stream and trek along it to the bridge. Always a good way to start the day.

DC think that I might just wear purple today. Do you ever wake up and have that feeling, you know the one where you want to be full of mishcief. You feel so happy to be alive and looking forward to whatever the day might bring. Ok, I guess it is just hysteria but then we are all allowed our moments of madness. I am in a very excitable mood today. DC I just know that you are going to have a fantastic day today and I look forward to hearing all about it later.

I think that my excitement (for that read hysteria) has something to do with the fact that yesterday I finally bit the bullet and booked to go to London for the Last few nights at the proms. I have been having withdrawal symptoms this year as I have been unable to get a sitter for Moo. I wont put him into kennels because he is too jittery. So I found a lady who does home sitting. She is a veterinary nurse and breeds flat coats and labradors in Portugal. She moved to Wales to be with the love of her life and has been unable to bring her dogs over yet. I know that it is very extravagant but I really would like to spend some quality time with OH because we have hardly seen each other this summer. So my bank balance took a massive hit yesterday. £150 for four days home sitting and £240 for 3 nights accommodation (double b&B with breakfast so cheap for London) in Beit Hall right next to the Albert Hall so that is great. I will be very MSE whilst there because entrance to the proms is only £5 per night including the last night so that is £15. Train tickets will be purchased today and when I looked I can get a return to London for about £35 via trainline booked via quidco of course. I will be staying close to the museums so there is a few free things to do in the day and I know of a lovely little cafe that is cheap for London standards. So YIPPEE to holidays.

Now I have been thinking that this dog sitting/walking lark is really lucrative. The lady that walks Moo for me when I am on long days charges me £20 an hour. I know that is expensive but she is very good and he like her. The lady who is home sitting for me is charging £35 per day and £10 travel expenses. Which compared to some of the big homesitting companies is very reasonable I must say. So maybe that could be a way for me to make some money in my patchwork life when I start it in October.

Did you see what I did there, I am picturing my new life and projecting it forward. Every little bit of positivity helps to influence the universe and the powers that be in work :D

Well, no use sitting here I must be on with it. Oooooo I feel very TADA today. Definitely manic I think.

Just wanted to share the first 2 verses of a favourite poem by Emily Bronte

How still, how happy! Those are words
    That once would scarce agree together;
I loved the plashing of the surge -
The changing heaven the breezy weather,

More than smooth seas and cloudless skies
    And solemn, soothing, softened airs
That in the forest woke no sighs
And from the green spray shook no tears.

  • Oh Cheri, that's sounds lovely, all of it ! I love the michief/hysteria feeling, it puts a spring in your step and rubs off on others.
And the forward thinking, to be paid for spending time with four legged friends. Brilliant idea.

I think your life sounds wonderful. I'm not really a dog person but I love hearing about your walks in the forest and by the beach. I would love to be able to start my day like that :) The last 2 mornings I have overslept :o

I will think of you on the last night of the proms. is it televised? can you wear all purple so we can pick you out in the crowds?!

I can see you dogwalking in October and beyond.....how wonderful to be paid for something you enjoy so much.

Thanks DC, Mischief should be a part of everybody's life. I think that we often lose our inner child with the focus being on getting somewhere in life. In truth - as a child we are already where we want to be (happy) and then we think we have to conform. I am so fed up of living my life in a way that I think that other people expect me to live.

Strange the things that you think of at 5 in the morning. I was writing a to do list for work and it incuded organising dog sitting which got me to thinking how nice it would be. I actually pay £20 an hour to have Moo taken out at lunch time and she takes her dog with her too! I dont mind that because Moo loves playing but hey, why not get paid for walking your own dog:rotfl:
