Do you have a Windows Certificate Of Authenticity sticker on the PC? If so, which version of Windows is indicated?

How are you getting on with the guide?

The sticker says Intel Core2 Duo.I am sorry but I have not tried your instructions as they are far too complicated. I had to ask the man who built the PC to clear the viruses. I have in the past made matters far worse by trying to put things right. I do hope you do not think I have wasted your time and much appreciate the time you spent trying to help. Please accept my apologies!

I know they sound pretty complex, that for techies seem standard, but these are pretty much "point n click", the problem is that these are also issues that are likely to return, in some cases quite regularly.

The bonus's of trying to achieve these for yourself, is not only the idea o having to constantly take your pc away for repair (which can cost a fortune), its the ability to learn how to for the next time it happens as well as the satisfaction of knowing you have learned how to repair your computer, how it "ticks" AND to discover parts of the system you never even knew existed.
