New employee information about the &More card deal

Most people probably know about the new credit card offer for NEW credit card customers of the M&S &More card.
Best features about this card is 0% on all shopping everywhere for 12 months (from the date of account opening). 'Shopping' also includes purchases of Travel Money from the instore Bureaux de Change or online.
You can also get balance transfers at 3.9% for life with NO transfer fee.:j
For card tarts this is a very good offer as most cards charge a fee these days and the rates are generally higher.

This is great if you are about to get a new card but what if you already have an M&S &More card and are an employee of M&S?
Well I got a letter stating that as an EMPLOYEE of M&S, I would get the same special offers that new cardholders were getting which means that I can get 3.9% on balance transfers for life or if I preferred, I could use my existing card and get 0% for a year for any new purchases I make from the 1st Oct!:T
After the year is up, the interest rate applied will be 9.9%.

Remember, for employees this doesn't start until the 1st Oct so I will be holding off doing my balance transfers then.

To all other money savers, they might offer you the same (or similar) deal whether you are an employee or not, call them up on a number from saynoto0870.com and find out.

Applied for this on Saturday morning as want to do a BT. Just waiting on whether I've been accepted or not as the email says a letter will come by post.

Anyone else applied and heard anything yet? Interested to find out what level of credit people get too as I've got £6K to transfer.

Looks a good deal for someone like me who wants a "stable relationship" as Martin puts it :money:

If your getting a letter by post means you most likely been refered to an underwriter
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

    HSBC issues the M&S Card.

But according to other posts on in the CC forum this shouldn't exclude you from applying if you hold other HSBC-issued cards.

Here's the email I had back after applying. Am hoping it's the standard response as I've got a good credit rating, haven't applied for anything for over 6 months and only one out of my 3 cards is using more than 50% of its limit. I've shut lots of cards down this year too.

"Thank you for applying for the new &MORE Credit Card, the only card to be seen with and the only credit card you'll ever need.

We endeavour to offer our Internet customers a speedy response therefore, you will be contacted with a decision by post shortly.

Please accept our apologies for the short delay.

    Yours sincerely"

    It's run by HSBC

I just got the letter about the special rate for M&S employees this morning. Looks good but I just did a balance transfer to Virgin. Shame.

Did that balance transfer cost you 2% of the amount or did you manage to get it for free?
If you got it for free then is it probably worth taking advantage of this offer if you have other cards.

    Ali-OK,

I applied online last night, got a message at the end of the application (not an email, actually on the application screen), and got an email today saying I had been accepted.

    Hope that's not a bad sign? x

The balance transfer is fee free.
    Gone ... or have I?

Have you guys found out about your credit limits yet?

I'm not sure if HSBC are known for giving out large limits.

Phew! I received the acceptance and paperwork through the post today..so guess I was referred. Looks like limit won't be known until they send the card through. Hope it's enough to BT £6K from my soon to run out 0% card.
