Its a tricky one ..i work in retail and Argos can and have every right to withhold or stop selling this offer as on the website it clearly states that the cheapest item is free and we are knowingly defrauding Argos, so even if we have paid for it Argos dont have to honour it...
I have even tried it and it didnt work for me...

It was the hotwheels cars lol she didnt quiery the final price it was the fact that jessie showed up as 0.00. DH just got home and said the manager was really rude with him and he said he wanted to make a complaint and was told he had to ring customer service he wasnt bothered really that they wouldnt let him have it more so the way he was dealt with

Just to confirm the glitch has been fixed. Went over to Fosse Park in Leicester and the machine was taking off the lowest priced item. Well done to those that got in quick enough

I've just got back from argos, I got the vtech laptop, puzzle and hot wheels car for just under£9, it didn't work with some other stuff I had tried though.

It just worked for me (Stafford, the hough retail park) but the store closed at 8 so I didn't get a chance to try it again.

I got the scalextrix which is £50 I think? I paid for the lunch bag and a car, so I paid £12.98

I was wondering whether to get buzz and a pull-cord woody, but my son is happy with his big brother's old toys.

it says the price in tiny writing under the item details on the receipt. The staff member who hands the goods over has to stamp 'received' over each item as they give it to you, so it's possible that they might notice you paid zero for something big.

I'd be really embarrassed if the staff noticed, but am still tempted to try it again tomorrow, for a woody (because our old one has lost his hat, and my youngest keeps looking for it despite my eldest saying he lost it 6 years ago when he lived in a different bedroom). then there are 4 children I need christmas presents for ... hmmm ...

I'm guessing that the glitch will be fixed overnight though, especially if staff have cottoned onto it.
