Medion/Tevion

I'm bored and have been hearing sooooooo much bad stuff about companies i decided to cheer myself up by posting about a good (in my experience) company.

Medion is a virtually unheard of brand in the UK although apparently they are a top german brand (and excuse me for being stereotypical here but generally, the germans demand the best - you always know you have a good hotel on holiday if it is full of germans :D).

Anyway. My dad was the one who tried medion products to start with and he has since converted me. I have had several different products from them (monitors, pc, laptop, tv, dvd player, USB flash drive) and i have to say, although the price may be less than the more well known brands, the quality is that of the same, if not better in some cases. They usually offer a 3 year warranty as standard and anytime we have had a fault, they really have came through.

My dads motherboard failed - which they replaced FOC (including postage). My own pc came with windows vista but if we paid the admin charge of 20 euros, we would receive a free upgrade to windows 7 when it was released. I originally had some problems trying to order and because of this, they refunded the admin charge to me.

My most recent purchase (several months ago) was a 32" Full HD LCD tv with built in freeview among other things :D

Anyways, long story short......well done Medion. May you continue to offer me excellent quality stylish products for bargain prices and first rate customer service.

I'm sure someone will be along to tell me a horror story about them........it will be like telling a child there is no santa :( lol

I have just retired my old Medion after 7 or 8 years - excellent machine !
Couldn't find a suitable one to replace it - so have had to move to another manufacturer now :(

Im using medion/targa/silvercrest products at the minute, for example the speakers are medion and from aldi(have my own pair for my own computer). A targa monitor from lidl which we have had for id say 3 and a half years and it was replaced just before the warranty was up foc(no problems getting it sorted). A silver crest(from lidl) wireless mouse and keyboard which is at least 2 years old and they are still working and 2 medion (from aldi) external hard drives(paid for 1 and was given other free from a relative). I cant even pick any faults with them as they are all so good. I even use rechareble batteries(plus charger) from lidl in the mouse and keyboard

As well as the other stores they are online:

Even though looking at the website prices their products seem cheaper when bought through the supermarkets.
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

The hard drive in my Medion PC went after 13 months and they said tough, the warranty is only 12 months. The PC lasted 6 years though, however not without some tinkering and general hardware updating from me.

At the time it was the best PC for the money I could find (@ that well known PC retailer Toys R Us ) and hard drive issue excepted it was a decent bit of kit.

Yeah i've noticed that too. Not sure whether its maybe because Aldi pay for shipping? Plus get a cheaper price on the product for bulk buying too.

@PeteMc, did you buy it directly from them? Did you try emailing/phoning? As i said, we've always had first rate CS from them.

Is it possible that Aldi and Medion are so closely related that it is beneficial for them to have a price direct from Medion which makes the Aldi price look even better? Kind of the Oskar Emil effect. Also OP, Medion are in no way "virtually unheard of" over here.
