Rod Stewart tickets cancelled

I have already complained to Adele at Ents 24, this was her reply:
Hi Claire,
Thanks for your e-mail. Unfortunately these tickets were given to Ents24 by the promoter AEG who rang up at 3pm to tell us they could not fulfil the promised allocation to us. We were not surprisingly very annoyed and have asked AEG to get in touch with every winner to let them know direct to explain and offer compensation. They have as an alternative offered every winner tickets to see Rod Stewart in London on Wednesday. If you can go, I urge you to take up their offer as I'm sure you'll have a brilliant time.
Once again, please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by the error.
Adele
I do not think that one ticket for the London concert is any compensatition at all, how safe is it for one person to travel there alone etc?
I have replied telling her I will be taking the complaint to the ISP
I too told them I'd be complaining to a higher authority! Watchdog anyone? :j Thanks to all the OP's for all your hard work! :j:beer:0 -

I think it may be a pair of tickets for London, the email is confusing, but I certainly won't/can't accept the offer.

Dear Ents24 Customer, We were forwarded your details by Ents24. We understand that you were contacted by them to say you are a competition winner for tonight's Rod Stewart concert in Glasgow SECC. Due to unforeseen circumstances on our part these free tickets are no longer available. We offer our sincere apologies for this error. As compensation, we can offer you a ticket for Rod Stewart's London show on 28th July 2010 at The O2 arena, but must stress that we will not be liable for any travel expenses incurred. Please reply to XXXXXXXX asap if you would like a pair of tickets for the London show instead. Yours sincerely AEG Live______________________________________0 -

Even then this is not compensation! You'd have to get time off work, pay fopr accomodation, food and of course travel to go to london. There is no way anyone will accept that! It's absolutely ridiculous! :j Thanks to all the OP's for all your hard work! :j:beer:0 -
I too have had the same email @ 16.15 today was already in city centre having a drink with friends whom I gave the tickets I bought prior to my "win". When I got the news from my husband that I was going nowhere.
Gutted but a ticket for London is in no way an alternative to the tickets especially as it would take the best part of £200 to book travel at short notice and of course a hotel to stay in. Made a complaint by email, waiting on the reply....0 -
Adele,
The compensation offered is a ticket to the concert on Wednesday night in London.
Not only will it be difficult to get time off work at such short notice, again I will be losing out on wages and I do not think it is any compensation at all for a female to be traveling to London alone, having to go to the concert alone and either travel back home the same night or find suitable accomodation. It is not safe or practical.
I will be taking this further and making an offical complaint to the ISP.
Her reply to this was:
Hi Claire,
The offer is for a pair of tickets to the London event, not a single ticket. I do however appreciate your frustration and the short notice you were given was ridiculous. We're in the process of speaking to AEG to find something suitable for those who do not want to attend the London event, but it's very much down to them at this stage to offer alternatives. We'll do all we can for you though but please contact AEG Live to let them know your views.
Adele
