yes sorry, but just happened to skip over from the other thread where this person didn't even attempt any of the solutions offered and is now on here telling others its impossible to get them to work together..... a little frustrating to say the least.
to really rub it in they went to PC world instead0 -
what utter garbage, please can the (self confessed) technically inept stick to asking advice rather than trying to give it on subjects they have already told us they know nothing about.....
Poster has raised a question on this topic elsewhere on this forum and has been answered by many including you. And is sharing his information.
While it may be possible to get an ADSL modem to work with Tiscali and W7, the advice is about right for a user with average skills.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
If you bought a new PC you would find it very difficult to get anything other than Windows 7 on it!
Upgrading from Vista to XP could cost you £82-£123 (from Amazon), depending on which version of Win7 you go for...
??? What are you talking?0 -
Hi,
Thanks everyone for the help & advise - interesting how it got into an argument about whether a USB based modem works with W7
So the advice is to make sure that the PC is backed up, do a factory restore & then install W7 Professional 64 bit version?

This is why I changed my profile name and no longer offer advice here. Bombastic bullies like this should be kicked off. A total disregard for the forum rules and ignored by moderaters who will no doubt have a go at me instead.
JasX further comment about another OP going to PCWorld makes me wonder if they have some commercial interest in keep helpful amateurs out.0 -

Since you are not offering any advice at all, I don't see the point of your post other than inflaming tensions.
So perhaps you should stay hidden.0 -

Since you have only 2GB of RAM, I don't see the point of your installing a 64bit version. Unless you have a liking for Driver incompatibility.
Not sure as to where you took your advice. Certainly not from this thread.0 -
Never had any problems with drivers for all my 64bit Windows, though I do have to question why you need Professional?? The differences between it and premium aren't worth the price hike.0
