I can't read add anything that has already been said about the first pic, although I really like their eyes, I think eyes like that adds to the personal touch rather than jst the little beads, also gives you a USP too, which is what you want!

The one of your kids is lovely, it's such a sweet thing, what would something like that cost?

Thank you :) I tend to like the eyes like that more as I think it gives them a bit more character - I've seen them painted on and just think they look flat. Not that I'm having a go at anyone else's product, obviously there are things to work out in mine - the great thing with the topper in the first pic is that I offered to do it for her for nothing and they then paid me to make another with the bride and groom for a thankyou gift for his parents, which means I get sort of a second chance to work out the flaws. What I'm aiming for is for the faces to have real expressions instead of just the same smile on each one; I guess that would be a USP too? I think I'd maybe charge £40 for the kids one as it is, with three children on a base - to be honest I'm hoping to put the prices up a bit later on as they do take quite a long time to do, and I'm a stay-at-home mum with two little ones still at home and one at school, so I'm doing them at night and during naptime! - but obviously I'm not established and I can't actually afford to buy a domain name yet, which is what I really want - but at the moment any money earned is pretty much going on materials. It's exciting to get all this great feedback :) love your signature by the way, made me think.

see, now that i have seen the ones of the kids, i can say that i think you do a good likeness. lol

thank you for posting that. the main reason i wanted to make the point is that while the groom may look a little out of proportion to us, it may be the absolute spitting image of him and we wouldn't necesarily see it

having seen the likeness of your children, this confirms to me that my first thoughts are probably correct.

your style is very similar to the one my friend does and i have loved them for ages. you will definitely be able to sell those. capturing peoples looks as well as their charachter is in itself a talent and one which you appear to have mastered. well done. :)

Oh brilliant! Thank you, that's a lovely comment :) now I want to have a nosey at what your friend does lol! The proportions on the bride and groom do look better front on but all the comments about the face and upper body are right, and people would want what someone said, for them to look attractive, so I'll work on that with my next one. MSE people are fab!

  • Hi!

I really love the cake toppers you made! Great work!

I'm getting married in a few weeks and am looking for someone to make me a cake topper that looks like me, my partner and our little boy.

If you could give me a price and think you could do one in time then i would be really interested in purchasing some from you!

    Let me know!

    Keep up the good work!
