Anyone want to give me some feedback on my personalised cake toppers?

Hi, I've been making stuff with clay for a while and I'm having a foray into selling personalised, handmade cake toppers. I know some people don't like them at all but I'm getting a bit anxious about whether or not I should bother. Could any of you lovely people please give me some tips or suggestions, about style, details etc?
Here's the one I did for my friend, as a show piece;

-any comments appreciated, thanks so much

Aww they are lovely, really funny and look excellent. I love the wedding dress and the facial expressions! In general cake toppers for weddings are not my thing, but perhaps for a party or other celebration I would definately consider one.0

They are good

The only thing I would say is I personally don't like 'life like' eyes on cake toppers I find them creepy lol. Other than that they are good, top half of the bodies are slightly out of proportion but I don't know whethere you went for that style on purpose?
Give it a go I say and see where it leads you.Getting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!
2010 wins: approx £2198
2011 wins value so far: approx £650

Ooh, do you find them creepy? That's interesting, I wonder if that's why a lot of people that sell them put those 'bead' eyes on them. Maybe I should try doing something like that. ....I think the picture's making them look a bit odd lol, they look well-proportioned from the front! Right, so I need to try a different photo too lol, thank you!

I don't find them creepy personally. I think they are fun, unique and very clever.
Just out of interest how much would something like that cost?0 -
Thank you Poppyoscar, that's lovely! That's what I'm trying to find out myself - some are going at around £50 on Ebay, others more like £30, I'm doing one for the same friend as a thankyou gift for his parents and charging her £40 inc. delivery - there are some, which are very professional, going at £140 for a bride and groom(!!) - not very MSE! lol xxI have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0

First let me say this is far better than any I could make and a very good effort.
Now the reason why I wouldn't pay money for this is they look a little 'primate' - their arms are longer than I would have thought, their torso is a bit longer... And the jaw on that man is wider than the top of his head.
And having been that rude it's clear to see that I'm the only one who thinks that and everyone else loves them and it shows that you can't please everyone!!I love surprises!0 -

I think £40 inc delivery is a very fair price. The cheapest cake topper I was considering was £80 just to give a bit more info to my statement above!I love surprises!0 -

I think the groom looks a bit top heavy, or maybe his legs are too small.. yeah infact if you padded out the legs a bit then he wouldn't be out of proportion. His arm looks quite long too, and I think his face could do with a bit more definition. Maybe more of a nose? I'm not sure exactly what his face needs, but if you're having a play you can myabe try some different facial features? And maybe with the bride, making her waist a little more defined, and making the skirt part longer and the body shorter. Every bride will want their likeness to look amazing, even if it's not a completely true likeness
I hope I'm not being rude and that I'm helping, I'm definitely not ripping them apart, just picking! I couldn't make anything like that, I was considering making little pirates and princesses for my girls' birthday cake, but I think I may end up buying them! 0
