I have spent nearly one hour on the vodafone eforum this morning trying to confirm their current buy out calculation so I can leave their rotten, over priced network. (My monthly bill has gone up by 250%..) I managed to get 2 posts deleted and 2 edited so there was no text in them!! Why would you have a forum that didn't allow people to post questions..

So, does the (remaining months x £10) -(25%) work for all networks? I pay £10 a month and have a contract until Sept 2011.

Seriously, if the vodafone man is watching, please encourage your customer service teams to actually service customers.

Not sure were you get the -25% from. They are entitled to claim the full amount.

Yep, O2 charge the full amount if you wish to leave early. That's been my experience, anyway.

Vodafone always gave a 25% discount, but I'm not sure whether they still do.
With regard to the forum - Voda always say that it is essentially a technical forum.
I would recommend that you call c/s - via 191. They'll work out your termination fee straight away for you.

Voda have changed the discount - it used to be 25% but is now only 2%. You also need to use the price of your monthly payment excluding vat to make your calculations (they're not actually providing the service for the months you're buying out so can't charge vat)
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail

Will give them a call, always useful to know what to expect. Thanks to all.

UPDATE: How true that if you call the same number 3 times, you will get 3 different stories. At the third time of calling, I spoke to a very helpful chap who pointed out that it was possible to do a slight amendment to my plan so that I would not incur the mental increase again. (I went 7 mins over my allocated 100 mins plan and got £25 added...)

He gave me a wee bit of a refund and tweaked my mins. Not sure if this was possible because I was put thru to the retentions people and not the err emm people.

Meant to say, I was told to pay the VAT then it would be refunded.

    @MsAnderson,

I more than understand how you feel trying to get your point across in the in-house Vodafone e-forum. Just like you I have experienced having post edited and deleted, I even manged to get myself expelled and barred from the forum. I had first time posters (IMHO VF staff) making abusive posts which were not removed by the administators even when I objected.

What you have to accept that this is their own forum, set up on their own web site. Unlike MSE.com which is totally independant. They do not want to have posts telling their members how bad their network is and do their very best to censor views such as yours and mine. I defy any VF rep to argue this point.

When you calm down take some time to read some of the mundane threads on the e-forum. Some of the basic questions and queries must be posted by school children. I can understand how angry you feel, I have been there, but you cannot let these morons get you down.

    Life is too short....

I'm not down, just flabergasted at VF attitude. The gist of my post's was to ask what the calculation was to end the contract. It was deleted. Then I asked if there was standard calc or was it tailored to each contract. The text was deleted. VF said it was because I was discussing an account specific issue. When I posted a link to a topic that contained more personal info, my post was deleted too.

If you have a forum to discuss VF online and I can't find a calc to give me a buy out figure, I would have thought it reasonable to ask if there was one. Not according to VF.

I'll just take my new terms and live with them until the end of contract then move. I doubt they will be bothered!

PS I have an email from VF saying someone will call me within 48 hours to discuss my initial post. The clock is ticking...

    Hi MsAnderson

I'm glad to see you got a solution when you called us.

I can confirm what Yolina has mentioned is correct.

In terms of the eForum, it's designed as a technical help forum and the moderators are unable to help there with account specific queries. This is something that you agree to as part of the terms and conditions. When a post is removed or locked as account specific they will send you an email straight away to request your details so they can get in touch and resolve your query.

If you haven't received this email or you would like to discuss your account I'd be happy to help.

Send me an email from here with WRT135 in the subject line (so it comes straight to my team) and I'll do all I can to resolve any queries you have. Make sure when you send the email that you include a link to this thread and your username.

    All the best
