Pebble dash-can you still get it done?

Options
Does anyone still do pebble dash? Our unpainted pebble-dash has been endlessly patched, none of it really matches. Would prefer not to just paint over it as will then have do it every few years, so would rather have it all taken off & redone. Spoken to a couple of people but they say that they don't do it anymore.
Any thoughts/guidance? Is it also known as something else?

  • Yes! Contact a few local builders in your area for quotes, it can be expensive for a full house, it's still called pebble dash ;)

Pebbledash is applied today, the problem with having pebbledash applied is (as your experiencing) it weathers and bald patches appear, this is normal and always occurs, newer full protection systems are now available with no future maintainance required.

Not always. Our pebble dash is about 90 years old and is in perfect condition.

Ours is a similar age & was reasonably ok until a few years ago, now there are some large blown or unstable looking areas. Also patches where extra pipes have been added from kitchen/bathrooms.

I'm sure you're right. Ours does seem to have been done exceptionally well. The pebbledashing on some neighbouring houses hasn't lasted as well.
