escape card - warning

Options
Other users might like to know that the otherwise excellent escape card, allowing fee-free avoidance of the Ryanair processing fee, has serious flaw. Top-ups can take EIGHT days to be credited to the card. Even by Faster Payments they can take FIVE days. In particular they get stalled at the weekend - two of mine recently made on Fridays were not available for spending until Monday.

This is despite the card issuers claim:
Please be advised that all Electronic/Bank transfer are credited to your Escape card eccount as soon as the cleared money is received from the sender's bank.
Anyone know a fee-free card that avoids this problem? Thanks.

Goodness me...weren't you recommending them above the rather excellent FairFx Anywhere card on your other thread. A bit fickle aren't you? :D

I was going to suggest a Caxton Card, but no doubt you will find something wrong with that as well.:)

Caxton Card - As Inactive says, you may not be so impressed with that either :o

    Caxton Card
Er, how so? Surely it is not a free-free card - like FairFX, it charges 1.5% commission on Ryanair purchases.

I believe the Caxton Global Traveller card charges a flat fee of £1.50 per transaction on Ryanair.

    Correct....;)

They do, and they do take almost instant top ups.

I just took cash into the Phones4U shops to load my escape card but obviously not an option for everyone

I've linked to your post, here and to my reply.

Seem that with all these ridiculous posts you are making, you forget what you write.
