Thank you for the hugs and thoughts - I've told DS2 about them.
I don't really merit hugs for me, I just can't stop thinking about his brother and parents. It's having one the same age, in the same class that makes it feel so close - oh, I'm not saying this very well!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Hi serena - I've missed your post somewhere but something sounds sad and hugs to you hunny xx

Serena and family (((((hugs)))))
Jenny, I'm fine thanks...will know better next time!!!
Have had a lovely day out with DD. She may be camping in friends garden tonight with friends and their Mum....wasn't sure at first but talked myself round!!!!
Not sure if it's still going ahead so will have to go and find out....see you all in a bit....xx0 -
hugs to Serena and her family and friends
I'm exhausted. I didn't sleep well last night what with the heat and humidity and all. Had a surprisingly busy day at work - lots of phone calls to make so that was quite good.
I have also sorted out the side yard this evening. I decided where we had placed the chicken coop was possibly too sheltered - the poor little darlings wouldn't get ANY sun in the winter so I've rearranged everything and moved it to a spot where they're likely to catch a glimpse in December.
Also put them out in it for half an hour and let them get used to it whilst I mucked out their indoor cage. They are so funny to watch. I think I, and they, have their pecking order worked out now but every so often there'll be what I can only call "a rumpus" when they all squawk at each other and flap around in a circle and then do a group standoff then they'll settle down nicely again. Holly certainly seems to be top chick at the moment - she's also the most adventurous but then I think she was born first (she's always been slightly bigger and slightly more advanced than Kendra).Poor little Bridget seems to be bottom of the pack but she's happy.
BB still has the squits so it's rice and scrambled egg for her again tonight. She seems fine in herself and it's not constant, it's just when she goes, it's runny (sorry if that's too much information!). We've had three "accidents" on the utility room floor in the last 48 hours.
Only trouble is, my car is booked in for an MOT Friday and I need to dash it over to the garage tomorrow night when I get in from work so it's ready for them in the morning. I KNOW the brakes are dodgy so it'll need fixing up so I'm unlikely to get it back until Saturday so if BB is no better, I may have to take her on a LONG walk to the vet and back. Only trouble is, poop bags aren't suitable for runny stuff!
Any road up, better go sort myself some dinner out. I WILL have an early night tonight...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I think the end of term has caught up with me and I have spent the day napping on and off
I've had one like that, too, but only managed one nap. I had it all planned, but then something didn't work out and I spent the day with DS1, rather than going to work. It was really nice - something we don't do often enough anymore. I feel more tired now than after the last two days of decluttering, but DS1 has lots of options for next year (we met a careers advisor): L3 engineering certificate, L3 BTEC music technology, A-levels (biology, psychology, english, music technology). He's also got an audition with the music department at the college for the music tech courses. There was a distinct look of panic on his face when he found out about it, just after his guitar teacher cancelled today's lesson.I don't really merit hugs for me, I just can't stop thinking about his brother and parents. It's having one the same age, in the same class that makes it feel so close - oh, I'm not saying this very well!
But you are, and any parent will know what you mean. My thoughts are with all of you.
Not a productive day from a flying point of view, but I've got DS1's promise to come and help at school on Friday. Day off with DH tomorrow, so we'll be off out, I think. I'm going to call on a friend now, for some advice on smartening up a dress, in case I need to buy some accessories. I'll catch up with fred later.0 -
Serena that is terrible news
thinking of you all and the young man's family at this very sad time. Such a shame.
Well today didn't go as planned. Boys were both out so was going to do so much! Then brother in law called at 11am asking for a lift back from the doctors as he'd chopped into his wrist with a chainsaw at work. By the time got him sorted, the job finished and all his stuff collected (self employed) it was 15 mins before I needed to get the boys. So about all I have managed today so far is cooking, 2 washer loads, sorted the animals and the dishwasher has been emptied/refilled.
Boys only out for 2 hours tomorrow inc when I drop them off/pick them up so must try to get something done! One day I might be more organised...........

Serena that is awful news for you and your family, and absolutely dreadful unbearable news for his parents and brother. It is the stuff of our worst nightmares as parents. You and your son are in my prayers and also his family. Take care.0

Have just had a text from Toots after passing on various peoples love and best wishes. She had an operation on her feeding tube on Friday and has been in the high dependency unit since. She came back to the normal ward this afternoon. She says she's fine but sore and sends her love and best wishes to you all.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
