Another question - the appeal of these nokia phones or blackberrys would be the instant email.
However the HTC Wildfire on PAYG seems to be a good price and perhaps offers a lot more in terms of other features.
With that in mind would it be better for me to go for the wildfire (I take it I can just use the Gmail app for email?)

I decided to go with Blackberry (haven't bought one yet) as I can get the emails abroad for free as well.
I assume with HTC I'd have to pay for internet use if I went abroad?0 -

I don't see how having a Blackberry can give you "free" email abroad. In order to get the emails to your phone you still need to use roamed data which is normally pretty expensive unless you use a local sim. Even the it is not "free".0 -
