Pls Help: Recommendations for Travel Insurance

I am looking for a family annual multi trip policy, does not have to be the cheapest, but with a company that wont give me any hassle should the need for a claim arise. I have looked at these so far:
http://www.travelinsuranceweb.com/
http://www.county-council.co.uk/
http://www.direct-travel.co.uk/
All offering excellent value for money, but does anyone have any experience of using them?
Any recommendations?
Many thanks in advance for your help.:)

No such thing as 'hassle free' insurance claims these days. Fewer claims paid out is more profit.
You just have to keep receipts and make notes if anything happens. I did claim because I was ill, I had all the details and the medical certificates, it was a bit of hassle getting it all together, but I filled everything in clearly and they paid out within a few weeks.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Hi,
I have used Direct Travel for the 3rd consecutive years (Annual plan).
Have not claimed so far (touch wood) so can't comment on that, but they do provide good customer service and I also found my new premiums lower than previous years, without me asking.0 -
I will not use them again.
I might opt for a slightly more expensive, but reliable provider next time; as I do not want to be bickering over a valid claim. In my experience, they are not the most professional or consistent service providers, and will do anything to avoid settling a claim.

Thanks for all your replies.
Has anyone used the county-council (voyager) one at all?0 -
Check your bank account, a lot of banks automatically give out free insurance, I have an Nat West advantage gold account with free travel insurance, I have had to claim on this policy and they paid up with no problem."Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0

I went with "Insure and Go" mainly because they have a "Business" add-on and their compensation for delay (the only thing I've ever claimed on previously) was better than most.
[un]luckily I was delayed at Gatwick for 72hours last Novemeber but got £140 from the insurance and a hotel at the airport from the airline...0 -
I would agree with Burtie Insure and Go are very comeptitive price wise and have excellent cover.I have had to claim once through them and it was all straight forward and payment was prompt.

I used Direct Travel for a 2 week holiday in August and found them to not only be very competitive but paid out my claim by cheque well within a week of phoning them to report it. It was for a small amount only around £30 so they didn't ask for any proof of the claim either which i guess sped things up a little. Would recommend.0

I also use Insure and Go. While not the cheapest, I found their coverage to be pretty comprensive."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

I would also recommend Direct Travel. We've used them for the past few years as they were the most competitive for us and we also had to make a claim this year. They were very efficient and paid our claim, which was a pretty large one.0
