Employers expecting people to work for £6.50 an hour!!

But then I know a binman who is paid for 7:24 hoirs work per day and actually works three hours. I guess there are always "people we know" that prove something. Just not sure what it is that it proves

Of course there are always 'people we know', all I was saying is that there are people earning high amounts of money in jobs that I do not personally feel are especially valuable, to me that includes 'sales rep'.
'Refuse Collection' is a valuable and necessary job, the fact that some binmen are slackers doesn't change that! My sales rep friend does his best for his company, everything that is asked of him and more, but that doesn't mean his job becomes meaningful to anyone else.0 -
I doubt it, we are known for our expensive houses. But like every area there are cheaper parts and thats where you have to go to get a good deal!Green and White Barmy Army!0

I think you underestimate the stresses involved in some lower paying jobs. A PCSO who's had to break up disturbances, a HCA who's cared for someone seriously ill or dying, even a bus driver who's had a violent incident occur on his bus isn't going to just clock off and go home with no further thought on it the rest of the evening.
All jobs have stresses and strains, what about the footballer that gets a rape call against them? What about a banker that gets held up? What about a sales rep who writes of their car during a normal day of work....?
I never denied that these people would take an increase in their wage but IMO the majority of them are happy in what they are doing with none or little prospects whereas the OP isn't and may not have done anything to actually have furthered themselves. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

Take a poll and get back to me
'Prospects' is slightly different to 'fair wage reflecting the value of the work you do'.0 -

yeah, maybe not but if they are not then I still maintain that if you want better wages then you have to further yourself in education/apprenticeship etcThe Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

well, if I could find a cheaper property to rent I sure as hell would have taken it, there is a house up the road from me on for rent at £795. 2 bedrooms, no double glazing (same as me), is ridiculous!!! I live on the South coast, I wouldnt want to move too far from the sea...provides lots of free entertainment!!!0

I used to walk for an hour some mornings just to get to work and work split shifts and have a long walk late in the evening.0
