Remember back to the day when you finally admitted that the debt was "real", it wasn't going to go away, and it was bigger than you had faced up to in the past, even though you knew deep down that you were in that situation?

And what was a crap time, actually gave you some sort of a turning point - some sort of "well, its happened now, lets just get on with it" type of shift in your attitude?

Well, perhaps losing your hair is the same - you knew it was quite likely to happen, but at the same time you kind of hoped if you carried on, you would avoid it......but now it is "real", so you can take a deep breath, deal with it for the reality that it is, get out the wig that you have got ready for it, and wear it with the knowledge that you are one step closer to getting yourself sorted.

Sorry, it is not a very good analogy, but sometimes, actually *getting to* the worst bits is more positive than we think.

Yes, you will look like you have cancer, That is because you do have cancer. Losing your hair is a by product of that - not a particularly great one, granted, but your hair will grow back and you will rejoice in that when it happens, in the same way as you have rejoiced in the past over another CC being paid off etc.

Thanks Hypno...think it's that I'm in denial about the cancer and people that don't know me wouldn't know as I look well.
I can even look in the mirror and not think about cancer but when bald it just brings it home.

Will get used to the wig but dread anyone knocking on the door as I'm not putting it on in the house.

I'm just feeling sorry for myself and tomorrow is another day.

And feeling sorry for yourself is good - far better to wallow occasionally than to put on a brave face all the time. If you don't let the emotion come through from time to time, it will creep up on you when you least expect it, and will hit you much harder then, taking much more energy from you and taking more time to recover.

Heaven knows, I have plenty of "wallowing" days when I feel sorry for myself, and I don't have the health issues that you do! So I can't even begin to comprehend what you are going through.

But what I HAVE learned, is that when those days happen, I need to give in to them - to accept that they are part of the journey, and that they will pass.

So let yourself feel crap from time to time! It is actually quite a positive thing.

And as for the hair, I think it will be one of those things that once you have gotten used to the idea yourself, you will think sod what everyone else thinks x

And if you're not, then I will send over my tin of brussel sprouts, and then you will REALLY have a problem :rotfl:

Right, am off to bed - got an early start.

Sleep well taxi, and remember, you are doing pretty damned well, even if you don't recognise it yourself all the time xx
