Can you not ring hubby as taxi service? And get door to doorBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

Hi Taxi, I just noticed your diary on the front page as I don't venture onto debtfreewannabe board these days.
Firstly congratulations on becoming debt free:beer: you must've worked so hard to clear it all.
Sorry to read that you are fighting cancer, BUT from reading previous threads you sound like a strong determined person, my Sis had breast cancer & she's a fighter too & although the tamoxifin (sp) hasn't helped her weight, it's a small price to pay.
Take care xxxxComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Hi Taxi, it sounds awful, but can't remember all the details now, but Sis finshed her radiotherapy about 3 years ago now, she also had chemo before that as her lump although small, caught early & removed was very aggressive, so she went for everything, she had the "ice cap" on so didn't lose her hair, although it did thin, & she said that the cap was really painful & if had it happened now, she wouldn't have it, but as she was going through a marriage breakup at the same time, it was important to her to keep her hair. Mind you, she did get a lovely wig, they are really nice now, none of those old granny ones lol
I'm poodling along, still with OH that I met on the cruise, kids doing great, divorce came through June, house equity is mine, but can't get ex's name off the mortgage as I don't have a job at the moment..........could go on haha
I will pop in from time to time to see how you are going, I am amazed how quickly you cleared your debt & just glad although ex cheated on me whilst working away to help clear our debt, at least I haven't got that to worry about too - shame I couldn't get around to overpaying the mortgage, but never mindComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

glad everything is sorted for you now and that you are stll with the new OH.
I managed to get down to about the last £18k of debt then got the cancer and my critical illness paid out...leaving me with about £15k which I put in savings towards paying the mortgage off...since built that up to nearly £20k in the last 6/8 weeks by selling my gold the other day and putting any spare money away each week...am hoping to clear the mortgage ASAP and then god forbid if I die then DH will be able to manage on his earnings and not have to worry about debt or mortgage.
if I don't die then I'll be able to have loads of cruises and hol.idays....so heres hoping theres plenty of years left in me yet0 -
Appointment went well...he wants me to take the omeprazole (for heartburn) all through chemo and afterwards.
he is going to give me difflam incase I get mouth ulcers
he's prescibing me some new very strong but can't remember the name anti sickness tablets for the first 3 days of chemo followed by metoclopramide again for the following days if needed.
