DH suggested a cleaner but surely if I'm not working I should just get on with it ..suppose it's the ingrained MSE in me.

Could be worth tal;king to a counsellor .

Ok - lets address the cleaner suggestion, a big 100% yes, its not the fact that your not working and your in the house, its called you have the biggest fright of your life, and your recovering, but its knocked you for 6 and back, you've got the family that need you, and if that means that someone comes in and pops the hoover around and frees you up, then you go for it, its not being lazy its being pratical.

Def agree re the counsellor, has macmillian nurses offer the service, they would be someone who knows what the ins and outs are, xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Taxi - don't go pleeaassse - or if you do - let us know where to - you don't get rid of us stalker so easily LOL LOL LOL

I've had an emotional few days with the loss of my sil so haven't been on diaries for a week or so....my first thought once I was feeling up to flirting around the boards was 'TAXI - how is she - what has she been doing, etc'

You fit in here more than you will ever know.

When you think about it though - you have had some REAL big battles - debt, health, pain and family matters, this has been over a prolonged time and you have taken each battle 'by the horns' on the verge of BEATING them. Now they have all but gone - where does all the 'fight' go, what do you do with the efforts you put into everything you have tackled now they are well on the way? - no wonder you are feeling at a loss with yourself. A lot of people wouldn't have been as strong dealing with just one of the issues - let alone all of them. I think some sort of councelling would be an excellent idea.

A friend of mine had to have a stoma fitted - three years ago now, she had been told there was a 99% chance that it was bowel cancer as she went in for the surgery, but they wouldn't know for sure until she had been in theatre. The stoma is permanant because of the position of the affected cells that were removed. She was one of the 'lucky (!!)' ones - it turned out after analysis that it was 'only' pre-cancerous. But she was in one hell of a turmoil after surgery as she felt the anti-climax that it wasn't the 'cancer' she had been led to believe it would be. She knew she should be feeling good that it wasn't couldn't get past the idea that she had nothing to fight (except getting used to the bag!!) and had one heck of a battle emotionally to get her head around things. Lots of people thought she should be over the moon that is wasn't cancer and couldn't understand why she wasn't. McMillan nurses sorted her councelling for her and it worked wonders for her speaking to people who understood where she was coming from. I'm sure it'll help you too Taxi :)

Faaaannntastic news on the weightloss. I decided I'm giving it a go on my own without ww classes, but I'll post my loss with you if you don't mind. I've got dh on board and only really started this weekend. I'm a bit worried the doc will take me off HRT if I continue to gain, she threatened it - so I have 3 months to shed a bit and get my blood pressure down a bit before I see her again LOL.

    Big hug Taxi

    Boo! :D

I'm going to bed now, at this discgraceful hour, but I thought I would just pop by first and say hello.

There, I've done it. And what milann was saying makes total sense, BTW: you've had a life-threatening illness, before which you were working hard to pay off a mountain of debt - it has been all gogogo for as long as you can remember, and now you have come out the other side, but have only got your thumbs to twiddle at the moment, which is a bit less engaging, isn't it? No wonder you feel a bit lost! ;) x

  • If they can sort out your nagging back pain, that would be be a great 'start' - hope they do very soon. Have you got an appointment? x

Hi everyone...not done anything again today but on the MSE front I've ordered a £50 cheque from yougov...
yesterday I did one load of washing/drying and broke down 3 cardboard boxes for recycling and put some polystyrene stuff in a bin bag and put it into the shed to be used in plant pots as drainage...I know it's not a lot to most of you but it is to me at the moment.
