Looking for a basic bank account that allows ATM withdrawels overseas

Sorry if this should of gone in the Basic Accounts thread, that thread is quite old and my question is on a recent occurance.
My wife has a basic account with Nationwide and as you are aware they are changing from Cash Card to Cash Card Plus, this means the new card can be used a debit card but you will no longer be able to use ATMs abroad, this is a big problem for us, my wife doesn't use the interent and doesn't do mail order, however we do go on hollidays abroad, we are going to Tunisia in September and as it stands my wife will not be able to access her money as she gets paid the day after we fly out. My wife will not qualify for an upgrade to Flex Account due to a credit problem a few years back, plus she only works part time so only has about £400 going in to her account each month
What we would like to do cancel the Nationwide account and open a Basic accout that does issue a Cash Card that can be used overseas. So are there any banks that can help here?
Sorry if this should have been posted elsewhere.

I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

There are plenty of accounts with cards that can be used overseas, however the fees aren't always very favourable.
Halifax's Easycash (basic bank account) comes with a Visa Electron card. The exchange rate fee is 2.75%, plus £1.50 per purchase/withdrawal.0 -

Cheers, I will look into that one, I'm not bothered about the charges, we will just have to live with that.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

We are going to Tunisia, it is a closed currency so you can only buy Tunisian Dinar when you are in the country plus, as wifie doesn't get paid untill the day after we fly none of that advice is really any use to us, it's not about finding the cheepest rates or best methods to buy foreign money, it's about not being able to use her ATM card because Nationwide have changed the rules, what we want is a basic bank account that does include a cash card that can be used abroad.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

"Commission-free card use abroad
We are the only high-street provider that doesn't charge you commission if you use your card abroad*. Some competitors charge up to 2.75% for buying goods or services and withdrawing cash abroad."0 -
