As I see it your dispute is with PayPal not with the original buyer and it is PayPal against whom you should consider issuing a claim in the courts. It would then be up to PayPal to get the money back from the buyer. It is quite easy to complete the small claims form online without going any further. You can then fax or send a copy of the form to PayPal and state that in x number of days if your account has not been reimbursed to your satisfaction you will start proceeding against it as per the copied form. You can claim back any costs you incur in starting proceedings, including solicitor's fees if you have to pay for professional advice but with a bit of luck it may not even get to this if PayPal see sense.0

Paypal rules say the OP is covered, OP just needs to remind paypal of that.

If you issue small claims to paypal they will close your account and you will be unable to use paypal again.
Why issue SC when the OP is covered anyway. They just need to phone and remind PP of there own rules and they should have the matter sorted.0 -

The fact is that the credit card registered address on PayPal was a verified address and that was the address that I sent the PS3 to. To verify an address, someone has to be able to prove that their name is linked to their address by either a credit card statement or a utility bill. So, the simple fact is that the PS3 is at the address that is verified to the buyer!! ...but I am still being asked for £250. It's completely crazy and makes no sense at all

Same thing happened to me a few times.. The children buying my product used parents paypal accounts then parent say their account had been fraudently used.. I called Paypal many times yet they do not even look into it at all and just refund the money to the person. I loose out as well cos I have to pay a fee on money going in and out of the account..
thats why in my latest business venture I do not know wot other way I can ask for payment without using paypal...0 -

So you don't bother reminding them of their own rules, mentioned several times above, that a claim for fraudulent use of a card can be easily defended by supplying a COP?
Personally I am happy to make a simple phone call that takes 5 minutes at most rather than lose money. My phone calls to paypal certainly didnt last for just 5 mins.. I think I have phoned them about 5 times and each time have waited and talked to them for about 30 mins,,...0

All you need is a Certificate of Posting. Paypal clearly state this, so it is no surprise that with this, you will keep your money.0 -

I understand perfectly was has happened. PayPal has refunded money to an unscrupulous buyer by deducting it from the seller's account. (The buyer has not deducted the money) It is therefore PayPal that has to be chased to put the money back (preferably before it accesses the seller's bank account to bring the seller's PayPal account back into credit.) Other than taking PayPal to the small claims court one option is to contact the Financial Ombudsman Service.0 -

Why make it so complicated and lose your paypal account though?
Just remind paypal of their rules and get your money refunded.
