So you wouldnt clean it throughout your whole period? And you would put this in in the morning and take it out a night? I just cant imagine taking it out and not spilling it....my tampons seems snug when i pull them out, let alone a flexible cup thing (and it not bending as i pull it out)

You can rinse it or wipe it with toilet roll, but you don't need to do anything more. It is up to you though.

And not everyone leaves it in all day, it depends on your flow and your cup size. You don't let it fill all the way to the brim (which is found out mostly by trial an error - leave it as long as you leave a tampon in and see how full it gets and then adjust next time). The cup isn't completely flexible (again, this varies with the different brands) so if you're not squeezing it then it won't squish and spill everywhere. You do squish it a bit to break the seal, but don't push too hard.

Part of the reason tampons seem snug is because they're made of fibres and there's more friction, especially if they're not full. Cups are V shaped, so only the rim is in contact with you anyway and once you've broken the seal that doesn't happen.

I think you're supposed to boil them to clean them thoroughly. Unless there was a separate saucepan for the thing, I am really shuddering here! I think I'd want a separate cooker for boiling it on too!

My Mother used to boil pants and socks in a pan on the cooker, gave it a swill out and then made the soup in it:eek:

Gross isnt the word - sounds medieval - I have this awful thought of it suddenly falling out - oh yuck.

Why?! WHY ARE MOONCUPS USED? I can see the attraction if you like home made black puddings, but other than that, no. Just bung up a roll of triple velvet if you must, but don't start filling a little cup as if you're the ketchup dispenser at McDonald's.
