iPhone Recycle Dispute
I was wondering if anybody out there could give me some advice? I am disputing O2 recycle's valuation of my iPhone and they are ignoring me.
I recently sent in a iPhone 3G to be recycled with O2's recycle site. The phone, if in mint condition, can get up to £160. I sent it via Special Delivery, in good condition apart from a few minor scratches to the case and I was expecting to have 0-10% deducted. However, they emailed me to tell me that I will get only £40 for it. On their site, a 75% is listed as: "Not functional (not powering on when charged), Heavy cosmetic damage. Bad cracks, Any LCD damage, Glass smashed screen."
I have contacted them to dispute this and although they replied to my email after several days, they completely ignored everything I said in it. They just thanked me for getting in touch and told me that I will get the £40 in my bank account in the next few days and to get in touch with them if I don't receive the money?!
What are my next steps? Trading standards? Citizen's advice bureau? A solicitor? Royal Mail?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
