Why should PAYG Orange customers pay to call customer services?

You can also top up your PAYG account online, even from the middle of nowhere.
As far as I am aware you can't take Orange PAYG number to another network.
I was out when my credit ran out, not near computer.0 -
In reply to some of the other messages, thanks Derrick for letting us know that the 0800 works I will definitely use that when I need to contact CS from now on.
But it really doesn't solve the problem that companies do charge to call them even when it is not the customers fault that they need to call CS, and this is allowed to continue because people don't complain enough. That's why I put the post up in the first place and I stand by it.
How come contract phone users get a freephone CS number? The answer from Orange CS was that its because they pay a service charge every month (as I used to do and my husband does). But my answer to that is that PAYG customers pay much more for their phone calls and a small proportion of that profit should go towards providing a decent CS.0 -
OK, I submit. £10 Orange top-up code will be sent by PM within 24 hours. Now shut up0

Okay, despite some helpful suggestions from users here it would appear that the OP just wishes to Vent about call charges to contact Orange, so I am now going to shift this to the Vent Board.0

Andy88, thanks for the offer of the top-up voucher (I assume it was for me) but I won't take/use it. I just wanted to make my point and I have.
If you work for Orange I would much prefer it if you would make my point as well as the other people on this board who agreed with me to Orange, in the hope that they might listen.0 -

You can, quite easily, I have done it myself (Orange PAYG -> Virgin Mobile).
You simply call up Orange for a PAC code (um yes, they will charge you for this call  ) which you then give to your new network, and then they will tell you when the transfer will take place (about a week later).
More info here (and I expect on any other network's site too).student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -

This is the whole point of this discussion- you CAN'T MAKE THE CALLS MORE CHEAPLY- THEY CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
