Using 3 contract SIM in unlocked HTC Wildfire

Options
Hi,

I've been trying to find out if this will work.

I currently have a contract with 3, on a handset with which i am unhappy, that has a long period yet to run.

I would like to buy an unlocked (or locked to 3) HTC Wildfire (off Ebay or similar) and use the SIM with it.

Will this work?

Cheers,

Martin

No problem. The only thing you'd need to do if it's not a 3 branded phone would be to get the settings for things like mms/internet. The networks can usually text those to the phone for you. . .

    Good searching. . .

The Wildfire is (I think) £229 on Play if that's any help ! I've just walked past CPW and its £299 in there !!!

I've got several on Ebay doing it for ~ £220 w/ next day delivery; seems preferable to Play.com's 3-5 days.

    Thanks again!

unless you are buying from a proper shop on ebay then I wouldnt bother, theres a risk that the phone will be reported stolen and will be blocked.

Thanks for the warning; however, I think I'm ok: the guy says he will provide an original Carphone Warehouse receipt; it's brand new, in box, still sealed; and he has excellent feedback -- although clearly just a home seller from the items he has listed over the past few years.

Well, wish me luck (and if that falls through, wish me lots of luck with paypal "buyer protection" ha!)

is the 9£ difference in price and 4 days delivery time difference really worth the risk of buying through ebay. is the phone guarantee even transferable by 'private' resellers.
    bubblesmoney :hello:
