I'd think very carefully before gazundering someone, if someone did it to me I'd pull out on principle. What are you going to say? According to Nationwide prices have dropped 0.2% this month so I am lowering my offer accordingly.

estate agents around here never hesitated to use 0.1% increases in the Nationwide index to justify 5% hikes in asking prices.

That has upset me a little with estate agents ramping up asking prices expecting to compensate for lower offers. It has made me put off buying due to affordability.

The more supply increases, prices fall and people realise over priced properties just wont sell I will be in a better position to haggle. Still won't gazunder but expect it to increase with each negative price survey month after month.

Maybe another tip would be while making an offer would to be to warn the seller about the dangers of chasing the market down.

It's so hard to keep up with who you are though Brit, isn't it?

How many fantasist claims have you made over the years, at various times purporting to be a policeman, a multiple BTL owner, etc, when you post the same drivel across different websites on your strange little mission to get prices to crash.

    Top marks for effort though.:rotfl:

House prices have been falling for well over year now and continue to do so.

Anyone considering buying is better off waiting a while to get something cheaper and better.

I see your point. However the original post was specifically about tips on buying a property cheaper so really it should remain. Please ignore the bulls as they try and deviate it away from the original post. They are a little upset that house prices are falling even in Aberdeen.

So the original points were to buy a cheaper house:

    1. Do your research.
    2. Communicate with the estate agent and the seller.
    3. Be prepared to move quickly
    4. Be upfront about the survey
    5. The murky world of gazundering
