First Time On The Road But Nervous

Thanks everyone I really appreciate your help. I'm going to get some petrol today and then go for a drive to Tesco to see if there are any bays that are clear for me to park in. If the carpark is full then I won't bother lol and just go for a drive.0

The fact they knock out over 200 BHP and also over 200 lb/ft of torque swings it for me any day of the week. Vx say the top speed is 155mph, but then they also state that it is electronically limited to that.
Quite a few owners have removed the limiter and have been timed in the high 170's, which is bloody impressive for an average family saloon by todays standards - let alone the standards of 16 odd years ago when the car was first produced.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

The mk3 Cav really was the 1st time a quality family type car hit the spot, the red top and turbo were and still are fantastic engines. You only have to see how many found there way into motorsport, grass trackers track cars, kitcars etc. Both my westfields and the cyclone had the 2ltr redtop, the cyclone got to 220bhp without being turbo charged.
I love 'em, (had an '89 sri and a 92sri redtop) :TI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I wouldn't mind a mk3 Cav automatic myself! There's a few on eBay too!0

I reversed into a bay parking space today when I went to Morrison's. I'm quite chuffed with myself because i also parked into my parking bay at home ok by reversing it in rather then just driving in and the Car was straight
I cheated though by watching some demos of bay parking on Youtube.

No harm in cheating. Your objective now is to gain experience and confidence of driving on a variety of roads and various speeds.0

Reverse bay parking is a good habit to get into; its safer when leaving the carpark as you can see where you're going, and its better for the car to do the messing around reversing and manoevreing when the engine is hot - saves fuel too.0 -
Although I don't understand why some people reverse into supermarket parking bays only to then struggle to get the trolley round to load up your shopping.0

Most car owners manuals are a fits all models type thing. Haynes manuals don't give much info on the operation of a car and are more about taking it to pieces
I agree about Haynes being almost exclusively for the mechanic so I had a google and reckon this might be better

I've not actually had a look at it but it says 'user guide' in the link so maybe it will be more useful for the op.0
