  • You are told to use the streets that are given to you, nowhere else. BUT, as my other half found out when she first took over, the other Avon Lady in the village had lots of 'friends and family' in those streets.

Luckily, that lady left and now my OH does the entire village. Not sure but I think she makes around £150 every 3 weeks or so for about 3 evenings work. You do have to work more initially than later on, but once you have a good client base, it's quite simple!

I ran at very minimal £6 profit, and for the effort it didn't seem worth it. However, if you are in a big work place then it can work quite well - but doing the streets is a pain, having to go bak to get people in etc....why not try mystery shopping, a lot less effort.
  • Well my wife and i both do Avon, My wife as a representative and I as a Sales leader.

My wife has been doing Avon for 10years on and off and she finds it quite profitable. she can earn upto £100 for what equates to one days work every three weeks.

My wife convinced me to look at the Sales leader side where you are able to recruit your own team and earn of their orders. after some thought i decided to go for it and although the initial time involved canvising my territory it has paid back. At the moment i use all of the profit from the retailing to get new reresentatives and i currently have a team of arround 13 reps and get £70 every three weeks from my down line. i am now looing to train up two reps to become sales leaders so that i can become Advanced and double my commission from my downliners.

although at the moment my return does not ammount to a great deal, i know with some more time and a little more effort i will be able to earn £300/m for less than a 24hrs work.

i do belive that Avon is not for everyone but for those who it suits it can be a very profitable part time job. my upliner (she is advanced) currently earns £400 every three weeks!! and the higher you go up the ladder the more you will earn!

if anyone would like to know more please PM me.
  • I do Avon and make £60 - £100 every 3 weeks or so (more at Xmas) - you need to put the time in at the begining, get your brochures out twice if possible, back sell from the previous campaign, get in to work places (I am in 3). I am going to try and drum up interest for Xmas by offering new customers 10% discount, stuff like that. I probably do about 3 to 4 hours work for the income I get, but you have to be careful that you do not become your own "best customer" - not as easy as it sounds, I could easily have bought everything from the last agent's Link brochure! It is like a lot of things, you get out what you put in - I find the products sell themselves but you have to do a bit of "selling yourself" sometimes.

  • I DONT DO AVON.... but i do kleeneze and currently make £400 plus a month.

Note kleeneze can be gond money but you have to work for it and the first few weeks are the hardest, i would imangine avon would be the same (when you start people dont know you and you have to prove reliability and tust)

if i can be of any more help PM me

  • I tried Avon a few times - not worth it for me, plus had a snotty woman down my street, which I had been given, who refused to give me back my brochure because her friend sells her her Avon and was going to tell her.

however, I did do Ann Summers a couple of years ago and found this very profitable in the run up to Xmas and I would definitely recommend it. I won awards and prizes without even trying - I even won a diamond ring (which is really icky and so not me so i never wear it) so it is worth it. You could easily take it on until Xmas then give the kit back and you probably wouldn't need to buy any extra for the kit, because you usually get quite a good kit (costs about £3 a week or something, until you've sold say £500 can't remember exactly - only took me about 3 weeks to sell that much)

  • Virgin Vie Christmas Consultant is quite good as you only have to do 2-3 parties to meet your target/commitment and then the Christmas Kit is yours to keep (subject to initial outlay on cost of kit/catalogues).
  • I do Ann Summers, it seems to have quite a good ROI if I don't spend it all on me. Otoh, my dh thinks it's the best job I've ever done! :rotfl:

Meant to add, I've also done Kleeneze and wouldn't again. Have done Herbalife too which I really liked but didn't have the time for sadly.

  • I do Avon I personally I think its a great way to earn extra money, especially if you have young children & cant commit to set hours.

I've just started up a new round & I love it, used to make about £100 to £150 every 3 weeks & once your client base is set up, it only takes an hour or two to earn that money.

Yes, you have to buy your brochures & this can be a pain while you are getting used to your customers, but once you have a set customer list you just buy the number of books you need. You DO NOT have to pay for your order forms, some samples are given free if they have ordered certain products, but otherwise you do have to pay for them, but you dont have to buy any.

Admin costs are 2 x £7.50 which are paid in your first two campaigns.

Plus you get alot of freebies which can be sold on Ebay, carboots or given as birthday/xmas pressies.

For example, if the offer is spend £10 on cosmetics & get the free goodie bag, you get 10 customers who spend £11, they all get their freebie & you get one too, also on buy 2 get 1 free deals you can get lots of freebies too.

Its a bit of hard graft for the first couple of months, but then thats work isnt it.
  • I used to be a Virgin Vie consultant and I will be doing it again for Christmas on a limited basis. This earns a basic 25% comission, on a good party you can easily earn £150.00 in one night. Any ex-consultants can re-join for Christmas as a Virgin Vie 'Angel'.
