  • Afternoon, Flyers! DH is having a nap (thinks it's 2am, and he's been travelling for 28 hours, poor love) so I've done some jobs, and sitting here with a cup of tea, resisting the dozen cherry muffins at my elbow! Waiting for my house to be full of children getting ready for school disco, and me to feed them! Punky, when's your DH back from Japan?

    Jobs today:

Baking – 12 cherry muffins, iced and decorated with cherries and coffee and hazelnut cake
Clean fireplace and lay fire – done
Been to butcher – mince for spag bol, steak for me and DH, lamb chops for Sunday
    Spag bol in range
Clean and polish range - done
    Dust living room - done
    Clean downstairs loo - done
Wash school uniform - ready to go when children home
    Send Freecycle item - done
Clean my and DD’s walking boots – done and put away
    Clean fridge – done
Dust and hoover DD’s room - done
BM – seedy loaf made and half eaten!

    Have a great Friday evening.

I have wasted most of today sorting the valuation on the new place and arranging specialist reports - 8k retention, and no offer till 3 reports are in. Could cry, but instead got the ground floor cleaned and hoovered. Cleaned up cat with dire rear, who missed the litter tray. DS2 is coming down with something and is in a clingy whingey horrid mood. Can today get any worse?

On the positive side Asda had some Red Stripe for once.

Date night? I used to work with someone who had spontaneous night every Wednesday. Always made me laugh.

Cooked fish in a fish kettle  which I got off freecycle, made ice cream, cleared the soggy bedlinen, made a treat for the hens with veg peelings, made 2 important phonecalls and wrote 1 v. important letter. Wrote all my thankyou letters to friends for birthday presents I received, feel like a proper 'laydee' doing my correspondence;) Put away some clothing although I am gearing up for a BIG ebay session...
Met this woman yesterday and am reading her book - bit like flylady but British!

So far I have got myself dressed, changed two nappies, tidied the kitchen and the bathroom, fed the animals and thought about plans for the day.

DS1 and I are off to the village hall for the craft fair (and to see santa - ridiculously early if you ask me) later. If it stops raining and I can leave the boys with OH then I will be packing the garden, clearing the greenhouse and the summerhouse. The plan is to start transferrring boxes to the summerhouse (it is newish and weatherproof log cabin so safe) once I start packing, so the things that are in there now need packing up first. Only four weeks to go now, and whilst I am not 100% confident it is going ahead I would hate to leave it to the last minute.

I also need to wash the top floor carpets and remove all invisible traces of cats bottom. Nice.
