the rucksack IS the handbag. :)

There was a time where security would only allow one item of hand luggage through but AFAIK that's now been discontinued. If the airline allows a carry on + a handbag/laptop/small rucksack within the size guidelines then I can't see why there would be a problem.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I had to put my handbag inside my carryon bag when I came back from France last month. If tanith is on a walking holiday the rucksack is fine but if she's on a "normal" one she probably will have a handbag too.

    Enjoy!

No lilac lady no handbag and no its not a walking holiday..just my carry on suitcase and my rucksack in which I keep all the things that most ladies put in a handbag, I just prefer to not carry one on the plane.. I have a small canvas shoulder bag I keep in my rucksack for when I get to where I am going ...

when you get to check in you could just put the laptop bag on the floor so she doesn't see it...just a thought.

This thread has gotten waaaaaaayyyy too complicated lol... I never mentioned anything about taking a laptop with me.. just a small rucksack and a carryon case... thats it, no more, no handbag, no laptop.. no nothing else...
