Can someone tell me if its ok to take a rucksack as my handbag on a BA flight ? I only want to take hand baggage and it says one piece of hand baggage (which I have) plus briefcase/laptop or handbag... can I take a rucksack as my handbag , it does fit the measurements they give..18x14x8
thanks , I'm probably worrying about nothing as usual... but I haven't flown alone before.. and I'm finding it stressful...

Yes that would be okay, I used one of those at easter on Ba flight to Paris as long as it is within the allowed dimensions.0

I have flown with BA today and the hand luggage rules are very relaxed. I agree with cardiff, you shouldn't have a problem.Gone ... or have I?0

Yep, I always take a rucksack as hand baggage both on BA and /easyjet, never a problem0

The OP is asking to take 2 items onboard I think, Hand luggage plus a rucksack. Is that OK
I think most replys have been rucksack only
I might be totally wrong though0 -
it sounds like the rucksack will fit the dimensions allowed for the 'laptop or handbag' part of the allowance - so I think the OP will be OK with the rucksack + main hand baggage.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

The OP is talking about taking a regular carry on and a rucksack as the handbag/laptop part of the allowance...since the rucksack fits the guidelines for the handbag/laptop it will be fine...if it didn't, it may not be...some rucksacks are obviously waaaay too big.

I'd make sure the handbag can fit inside the rucksack if necessary. Some check-in workers insist on only one carry on piece of luggage," The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
