Have to ask, and I'm not being rude, but how can you sell an item and say its Next/Debenhams etc when you cant be 100% certain?0

I was rather hoping that the OP was merely curious and not actually selling these without knowing what the label was.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I was getting the impression she was buying items from a carboot/charity and then reselling her buys. Of course, if I have the wrong end of the stick I apologise.
Edited to add, OP does state in another thread she has set up an ebay shop which sells clothing, in a previous thread she was trying to identify another item she had bought from a car boot.0 -

In that case OP must sell the items without any make mentioned, you can't sell something unless you are 100% sure what the make is and selling cut tags as (for instance) 'Next' will merely cause problems.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thats what I thought, though as I say if Im wrong I apologise. What made me think was seeing some M&S tags on a market stall once, when on closer inspection they werent Marks and Spencer but something close like Marks of Quality. Same font, same label design etc.
It would have been so easy to cut that label and sell it as a Marks. Unless the label is present you can never know for certain and if I bought an item listed as Next I'd be filing not as described if the label was no longer there.0 -

We did have a casual market trader last year at my local market that sold M and S seconds with the label cut out. It was obvious to anyone that the nearest these items had been to Marks and Spencer was as the trader drove his van in to the town centre to unload.
I am happy to buy unbranded items, and will pay the appropriate prices, I will never buy higher end goods that purport to be something but with no proof.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Don't do it you are asking for trouble. Sell it merely as your first statement 'good quality' etc and leave out any suggestion about the label, certainly don't mention any name unless you can prove it.
You've invested a lot of money into your shop (did you work out costs BTW as you have very little stock to cover the monthly fees?) if you get a couple of warnings you get the lot suspended overnight for an unspecified period of time and that will destroy yur business.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ok advice taken on board thank you, I have loads of stock waiting to go on but paypal are holding my money every time someone buys and I am finding it difficult to find the postage money. So I darent put all my stuff on at the same time.
Can you get a warning for putting a brand on an item when the tags are cut?0
