Not really, is a bad phone using an old and outdated version of Android, a phone to be avoided IMHO0

could you install a newer version like you can on the G1??2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0

I think the Mini only has a QVGA resolution, which is smaller than his G1's HVGA screen, so some of his existing apps won't work. The interface is also not the standard Android affair, so I would suggest have a play with it in the shop and compare it with his existing one.0

Reviews show the screen size to be at the limit of actually working with most of the apps.
Poor screen.

even the g1 has recently had a stable test version of froyo :eek: installed by cyanogen!!!!!! imagine the first android phone running the latest version of android. this is the first release of froyo for the g1 by cyanogen and newer releases will be better. so if froyo can be ported to the g1 then ANY android phone can get it.could you install a newer version like you can on the G1??
the phone is sleek and designed for one handed operation. see reviews online. but a slower processor plus older android. but when rooted probably can do more since you seem to be aware that different versions can be used on the g1. if you liked the g1 then no reason why you wont like a newer hardware and software than the g1 came with!
but do remember the limitations of a small device like the mini and also limitations of an old version of android if you dont want to modify what comes out of the box!bubblesmoney :hello:0 -

it's very fiddly, avoid it, if possible.0

Thanks guys.
I have gone for a second hand G1 from Ebay .... will put the latest version on it. A Nexus one is an option for the future but we shall see

I think your all being a bit harsh, for the money the X10 mini is not bad, considering it is a "cheap end of the market phone".0
