10-in-1 remote

The cheap, plasticky remote on my Yamada (sic, not Yamaha) STB/DVD player combo has died. Lidl currently have a Silvercrest 10-in-1 remote with learning function for £6.99. I've downloaded the manual, and Yamada isn't listed among the manufacturer codes. Obviously the learning function can't work without a functioning remote to learn from, but is there a quick way of programming it?

I suppose one lesson is to learn a new remote before all the originals die.

Does anyone kow if the Silvercrest remote is any good?

And is this the right thread for posting this?

    Hi Danny,

I bought one of the fancy Lidl all-in-one remotes some time back for my mum's PVR box but it didn't have the correct codes. No matter what I did it didn't work. The only way I could get a replacement was a site I found on Google that supply remotes already programmed to whatever you need. If I'm allowed I could post the site here - admins?

I am not an admin, but I can't see it would be a problem posting a link as long as you are not affilicated with the site in any way, or are going to gain (financially or otherwise) from a link being posted.

Here's the site then - I found it incredibly useful.

Thanks for your help. I tried contacting remotecontrols.co.uk a few days ago, but my model of Yamada wasn't listed, and they haven't replied yet.

However, I noticed that one of the battery contacts in my remote had some rust on it, so I cleaned it up, and it now works. :)
I might still get this Lidl remote so it can learn from my existing remotes while they still work.
