I thought the US Diners Club was sold off to Bank of Montreal? Or i could be mistaken i guess...(BoM is now owned by Discover from what i know).

Ironically the American version of the card is accepted everywhere now as the new format is 16 digit - so just don't tell the vender you're using a Diners Club card and it is fine, haha.

Btw i didn't get into it above but there are loads of other benefits to using the card - most importantly the frequent flyer rewards but i don't want to get into the ins and outs of that as i doubt anyone here would be interested.

Why have it? Free lounge access, the prestige that comes with the card i guess.

I do have a Diners card and honestly its cheaper to use that for lounge access than almost any other card.

Prestige?! Pffffff only for vein people.

I can underand about lounge access though.

But also they have the frequent flyer stuff and they do hand pick their merchants who accept it unlike Amex where its generic or franchised so there is that. (When peope say they take it, they actually do).
  • Hi
Thinking of getting this card purely for airport lounge access as i travel quite a lot and paying £50 pa sounds a good deal. Just one question though: is lounge access at LHR T5 included? Couldn't find anything on their website:

    Cheers :)

Honestly, i'd say unless it was urgent, wait a while...

I'm not knoking the idea of the DC card altogether, but it is only a matter of time before Citi have to sell it and then you won't get the fuked up service they offer atm.

Stay away from the card while Citi have it.

Sorry to bump the thread, but I thought you might like to know that there is no longer an annual charge for the card (and yes, the application process is harsh).
