Help - application form for housing association
Comments
-
I work for a Housing Association and we ask for previous addresses to make sure an applicant has lived in the county for two years (that gets the an extra 5 points - wow!) We always check the latest landlord to make sure there are no rent arears/antisocial behaviour complaints etc. You won't believe the amount of people who are 'economical' with the truth.
Good luck, it must be really hard living with people who are noisy/dirty etc.
It is .... but honestly these are the BEST SET of housemates I've ever had .... they can be noisy and C slamming her door drives me insane but considering what I have had to put up with in the past its nothing - it really is just me needing some space. When would they check with my current LL? I want her thinking Im moving next month (chance would be a fine thing!) and starting getting people to come viewing my room/the house and then be worried I might leave her in the lurch (and maybe evict me for someone with staying power).

We check on receipt of the housing app, before it's put on the system as live. However, if you put a note on your form saying you are worried about her evicting you if she gets wind of you moving, I personally would ring you for a chat for more information. She sounds a bit dodgy to threaten to evict you for daring to say you are moving on! I would ring Shelter or CAB for more advice.
I really feel for people like yourself. We just don't have enough 1 bed places for ordinary, working, healthy young adults with no vulnerability issues. Our lists are very long.0
