  • I was wondering if taking a frozen blue brick to keep food cool is allowed by airport security as they're not in fluidcondition when frozen? So far, the tight fitting styrofoam box has done an excellent job keeping the food refridgerated for a long time even without a frozen blue brick.(Or wharever they're called):o

Ahhh you've discovered the the hole in the DFT's master plan, if something is frozen its no longer liquid and therefore is allowed.

One day when Im far too bored at work I intend to see how far I can push BAA security, for instance i intend to fill 5 small 100ml bottles with coke and then them put in a plastic clear bag then walk through and decant each one into an empty 500ml bottle, because of course you cant take 500mls of coke through but you can take 5 x 100mls, gawd I should really stop thinking about ways to wind these people up

Thank you all, I can not freeze it as there is a lot and i am sure they don't want to eat it all in one go. so will need to freeze some for a later date. It will all be air tight as the butcher here vacuum packs it for them. can i take in hand luggage !!
    Many thanks again

    Hi
I can take the frozen ice packs in with the meat because of the weight as we only got 18kg - the weight of the meat:rotfl: Any more ideas please all very welcome.

Unless this happened prior to 1973, when the UK joined the EU, then this wouldnt/shouldnt/couldnt happen.

All foods can be moved between EU member states as long as its free from disease and fit for human consumption, even during the bird flu situation we could'nt stop people arriving from any part of the EU with dead birds etc.
Not quite so long ago! Could have been 1993 however.

You can take it however you want as long as it doesn't take you over the size/number/weight restrictions of the airline.

18kg of meat that you mention elsewhere (if that's what you meant) is over the hand baggage limit for most airlines and over the hold baggage for some.
